    Is that include tracks?

I have this for my son. Paid 20 for it ages ago. Great price and great toy. Gets annoying when he runs it on the floor and it hits the wall. Makes a constant clicking sounds that gets annoying. It's not too loud though. Highly recommend if into trains. Can go forward and back.

Could this be used for the fast rail eastern seaboard project without putting pressure on inflation?

  • Would this run of this f and P Thomas train tracks??

    • If it's the wooden tracks, then yes. My son is using Thomas trains on his Hape tracks.

  • I haven't used this, but if it's anything like the IKEA one I have a better suggestion.

Buy a cheapy that takes 1xAaa battery.
Put a AAA -sized Li ion battery (3.7V) in it instead.

I ended up sneaking a diode in there to drop the voltage because it has so much grunt it was hard to put it on the tracks.

Any recommendations for a cheap locomotive? Or is there a battery one at Ikea I've missed?

I tried to post the AliExpress link but it got blocked for being an affiliate link. It's a grey train with a single stop/go button on the top, and it takes 1xAAA.

You could do the same with this IKEA one but you'd need a AAA blank battery to put in series with 1x3.7 battery, because this takes 2xAAA.

In the video/photo reviews it shows the train on the very popular wooden tracks, so nice to know that this train is compatible.

  • We have the genuine James motorised engine that runs on the wooden tracks got about 20 years ago for master entropy.

I can’t seem to find it on line anywhere.

  • Bought thank you! I put rechargeable eneloops on these

  • Is the Thomas version for 12.80 no good?

    • Doesn’t run on the wooden tracks.

      • I have this, can confirm it works on the wooden tracks from Ikea etc
