Decent phone for a great price. I picked one up in the previous Officeworks bargain.
After having used the phone for a month now, would mention that it is slightly slow for heavy memory use apps. But would recommend regardless

      Any reception issues?

      • None that I've noticed. Located in Cairns

    • Will this work in the US?

  • This or the poco F5 for $550? ( I know differwnt classes of phones but value wise)?

    • +1

2 and a half of these

    • F5 looks really good, but my F4 has been a huge let down.
I think Xiaomi has started the corner cutting with the POCO phones.

      • I really disliked my POCO X3 NFC so did my father (identical phone)

  • 4gb?any problems to run non game apps?

    • From GSMARENA review:

Even with the Snapdragon 480+ on board, the device runs well with little to no hiccups and slow-downs

We didn't even notice any big slowdowns outside of launching some heavier apps, which took a bit longer than usual

4GB is usually enough for normal applications such as browsing and social media.

i got the old g51 which everyone has (???) for $199 and its an exceptionally good phone… to me $200 is a disposable temp phone… but there's literally nothing bad to say

this time round it looks like motorola removed 2gb of ram and raised the price 25%!!

        but hey, inflation

        • Have the g50 and g82 (as a spare). I do not need this lol

        • G51 is great except for the quality of the screen, it scratches easy. No gorilla glass.

    • No worries running browser and socials simultaneously for me

    • The only one that's been a bit slow for me is the official reddit app.

  • Stack with Amex offer for extra discount.

The side mounted fingerprint reader on these is a throwback that makes the phone worth it on its own. So tired of janky under screen fingerprint readers or garbage face unlock implementations.

  • Is this an upgrade from the older G51 5G?

    I don't see it - https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=11194&idPhone…

    • Looks identical apart from the G51 having a 0.3" larger display, but also being one Android version older.

      • I got the G51 6GB RAM for $199 here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/727493

So wondering if this G62 5G 4GB RAM might come down more in price. Thinking of buying for a friend, to replace a Moto E6S.

.3" on the screen, and it's got stereo speakers too.

        • the chances of seeing it any lower would be low because it is already being cleared out at most retailers, with Officeworks stock essentially finished, while TGG have stock at very few stores across the country. Your only chance would be if JB doesn't completely clear out most of its stock at this price. Considering rapid inflation, the $199 of the g51 is equivalent to the current $249 G62

            @shxhshzhz: Indeed, that's good perspective.

What about the 4GB RAM, enough for pretty average use but not future proof?

            • @JH100: 4GB is OK for those who don't spend long times on their phones or do heavy multitasking. I've seen 3GB phones still working fine. If you really want to stay future proof, you can look at the $323 Nokia G60 with 6GB on Amazon or look out for the Edge 30 Neo 8GB to be on sale again, although both would demand a price premium for the upgrade.

              • @shxhshzhz: I think I'll grab this one. Thanks for posting the deal OP.

                • +1

@JH100: No problem hope it does the job for your friend. Big upgrade from an e6s

            • @JH100: 4GB is really pushing, my LG G6 has 4 GB and it has been very slow. 6GB is minimal for day to day use.

              • @SnoozeAndLose: My friends E6S (4GB) got very slow but only because apps were storing stuff on RAM and filling it up. Once that was deleted it was fine.

I think this will be a nice enough upgrade, as long as she keeps her RAM clear.

              • @SnoozeAndLose: What sort of day to day use are you describing?

    When's end of support?

  • 4gb ram.. otherwise great buy

  • Post viewed on my G82

  • I wish more budget wireless mobile come to market so we don't need to run around to buy cable every few months… !

  • 4gb ram tho

  • Is ti's better than the motorola edge 20 fusion.

  • Just get a used iPhone 3x the speed and you won’t be wondering wtf 4gb ram has anything to do with anything

  • Does volte Vowifi works on major telcos?

    "Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ 5G"

    Weak and outdated SoC…

  • Also just outta curiosity, does this phone have a headphone jack?

  • +1

Purchased one from miranda jb today $242

    • That wasn't very respectful to your name

  • -2

Still can't beat the old deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/734104

    G82 performs better than G62

    $50 less as well

  • A reasonable replacement for a Realme 6?

  • How would this measure up against a Samsung A23 5g?

  • anyone know if this comes with a case and/or a screen protector?

    • +1

      Inbox Accessories
Headset (for selected countries), protective cover, charger, USB cable, guides, SIM tool

So it comes with a transparent case but no protector and a charger (rare)

    Good deal.

    Thanks OP.

Got one today but having battery issues (battery at 50% but turns off and screen shows 0% and 'plug in charger' symbol). Hopefully just a temporary glitch.

    • Get it replaced while it's early.

      • +1

Seeing how it goes today having charged it over night but yes, will replace this week if it happens again.

        • Did it happen again? I've just had this happen with my unit, plugged in charger and phone booted up with around 40%. When the phone arrived it was 0% plug in charger screen, perhaps old stock? The date on the box of my phone is July 2022.
