PSA. This stuff can be bad for you. Get yourself some kernels, butter and glass microwave safe container and throw into the microwave for around 2 mins, or when the popping slows right down. Tastes great without all the difficult to pronounce ingredients and saves you $

    • That's what I do, but with olive oil on the stovetop, and not using a microwave. I've heard that they can also be bad for you.

Yep! thats even better if the extra cleaning and effort doesnt bother you

These pre-flavoured packs are more aimed at the Ozbargain-KFC-Dominos key demographic.

        What ?

    • How do you get the caramel flavour?

Caramel… With a lot more effort, ingredients and around 50 minutes prep and cook time.

I wouldn't be too worried about the ingredients in this one as a guilty pleasure, the sweeteners are standard with most products you find on the shelves in the super market, same with the colour. It doesn't list what natural flavours are used, but from industry experience, they should all be par for the course.

There were some health worries about butter flavoured microwave popcorn in recent years due to the diacetyl scare over in the US, however they've mostly stopped using this chemical and the risks were more associated with the workers breathing concentrated amounts during manufacture.

That being said, everything in moderation and your way probably tastes a lot better.

      • that you for this info. the ozbargain scare mongers weere out in force

    • 'without all the difficult to pronounce ingredients'.

What bloody nonsense. If you had to put together a list of all the dozens of ingredients in an apple you wouldn't even recognise what it was.

Better stay way from that scary, chemical filled BANANA stuff: https://i.insider.com/593250b04cb1e422376acf8a?width=1000&fo…
