This was posted earlier but got removed so I thought that I would re-post for those who did not have the chance to have a look.
Best price I have seen online so far, initial price $26 + $3 standard shipping to Australia but with a $10 referral coupon code the price is reduced to $18.30AUD shipped.

Edit: I have been informed that this might not pass through Australian customs but not 100% sure.

when are we going to stop negging referral links and move on

    • Dude its ok to post your own affil link when you post the deal, but quit hijacking other posts. This isn't the first time you've done this.

      • Not hijacking, posting referral links is allowed, otherwise scotty would have banned it.
And then everyone is free to use whichever link they want. Its a free country.

We just need to move on and accept that ozbargain is a community for sharing and not a monopoly, and not bashing others.
I used to have your philosophy but now ive changed it past few days
Lets just be all friends and move on

        • Its a free country.

Not according to the taxman unfortunately….

        • C'mon. Just yesterday you were asking me to deal with another poster's referral link in the comment, mis-quoting what I said in TWAM. I told you that I am not banning it yet, but my intention is to rid of referral links in the comments. Just that I haven't had time to work everything out this week.

Don't take it as "posting referral links is allowed".

        • i meant not banned as yet

Their was a misunderstanding with the referral links as i thought their was a 50c to $1 price difference but it was more

Thats why i replied to the post "nevermind" coz i got it resolved

        • the taxman is evil

  • http://www.vitacost.com/Referee?wlsrc=rsReferral&ReferralCod… <- $10 free at Vitacost xo.

My referral link actually contains twice as many boobs as 'easternculture's link. Disregard his comment. All boob related clicking should be done here.

  • Thanks OP, I used your link and have already ordered something with the $10 coupon!

Here is my code if anyone is feeling equally as generous :) http://www.vitacost.com/Referee?wlsrc=rsReferral&ReferralCod…

    • unfortunately I couldn't find OP's referral code in the posting, so I used yours! ta!

Do they have any Curds products to complement the Whey????

  • Wasn't it removed because of referral links?

    • no, previous deal was posted with a ghost account

    • Was deleted for being a dupe

  • Thanks, ordered one using your referral code.

  • Here's my referral code, if anyone wants to get $10 off their purchase :

  • i saw this last week
but forgot to add the free samples :(

    Thanks, what a bargain!!! :)

  • -3

Not a bargain. ON Gold Standard has been this price for months on Vitacost, only difference now is the $3 shipping.
This has been discussed extensively in the forums under ozpetes post
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/60499

Seems that this post is just gain referrals, suggest moving to the forums.

    • -1

I think that this could be a bargain due to the cheap price compared to what we pay in Australia

      • Oh I didn't realise that we could spam OzBargain with every product on Vitacost that is cheaper than AUS

        Sweet.. Bring on the referrals

        • I'm not spamming at all. I found this an amazing bargain as I have never seen this price before, therefore I posted this so others are aware of this bargain instead of the prices here in Australia. This is my first post on Ozbargain so I don't know why you are calling this spam…

        • bought few herbs! you got yourself $10

No one should be consuming WPI for a number of health reasons.
Here is what Ori Hofmekler (scientific based researcher) says about WPI and heated proteins in general.

My freind and i were talking about the exact same topic a couple of days ago

He recommended i start vege protein powder supplements due to the negative effects of whey proteins on health.

Im looking into it now, trying to find a cheap online shop that sells vege protein powder (i.e. rice/pea protein)

      • -1

The main issue with any protein is because it is heated to some degree. You will find Defense Nutrition/Mercola's to be the least heated, and then you have One World Whey which is RAW (no heating what so ever).

I personally have tried both the Sun Warrior and Growing Naturals Fermented Brown Rice Protein… I use the Growing Naturals (Original Flvour) exclusively because it has less carbs and more protein per serve than Sun Warrior.

Apparently Growing Naturals makes the protein for Sun Warrior, but ferments their own a little longer… both are RAW.

        PM for any other info.

        • Totally agree that heating destroys the amino acid molecules at a certain degree

please send me info, would like to try the brown rice protein powder

        • What do you think your stomach acids do?

        • they are enzymes , break down the bonds of protein into amino acids

          heat destroys the actual protein

Thats why its recommended to boil or steam meat with a steady temp , rather than grill or fry

"hi don't use this whey because its bad for you. Use mine instead at some absurd price because of my recently stated claims with no scientific backing whatsoever."

      • -2

Here is Ori's blog with all the scientific evidence you may require.

        http://defensenutrition.com/blog/

        • +2

Where's the evidence? Evidence = peer reviewed scientific journal articles. I see scientific claims but no evidence.

    • reading that article, they seem to suggest that WPC is better than WPI - am i correct? isnt ON gold standard a mixture of WPI and WPC

Once you become aware of the celltech, you realize your just wasting money on these other proteinz

  • Can this be imported past customs easily?

    • +1

Its really a hit and miss
In the senario that you package gets checked it would be seized because this protein

      • contains lecithin which is a prohibited substance to import in Australia

      • It contains both Aminogen®, lactase . Enzymes are prohibited to import in Australia

Really depends if you think $18 is worth the risk

I would also like to encourage deal posters to make sure that the ingredients in your deals dont contain prohibited substances. Nothing worse than getting a letter from customs that your package has been seized (Happened to me before when i tried to import Gakic/lakic and Creakik from bodybuilding.com.

They can also issue fines. My friend got fined $50 a month ago for importing a supplement with a prohibited substance

  • This may be risky, because apparently the ingredient 'lecithin' is banned to be imported to Australia so it might be taken away by customs.

  • any referral link gives u US$10 off. you can use OP's one or mine:

and after your first time buy, use this cashback site:

    and also, from http://www.daff.gov.au:

"Protein powders may be permitted entry into Australia for personal consumption without the requirement for an import permit provided the product is labelled with the individual ingredients including percentages of each ingredient adding up to 100 per cent. Alternatively the consignments may be accompanied by a manufacturer’s declaration listing the individual ingredients adding up to 100 per cent . Each of these ingredients must meet DAFF Biosecurity import conditions. It is the importer’s responsibility to provide sufficient documentation to satisfy DAFF Biosecurity that the product in each consignment is as stated.

Protein powders containing dairy derived ingredients such as Whey, Isolate and/or Caseinates must be labelled as ‘originating from’ and ‘Manufactured in’ one of the countries listed by the World Organization for Animal Health (formerly known as the Office International des Epizooties [OIE]) as free from foot and mouth disease (FMD) with or without vaccination. If the labelling of powder does not specify the country of origin and manufacture, or includes the phrase ‘made from local and imported ingredients’, a manufacturer’s declaration will be required certifying that the milk component is sourced from an FMD–free country.

Protein powders containing egg will need to be labelled as containing less than 10 per cent egg to be exempt from requiring an import permit. There must also be no discernable pieces of egg in the product. If the labelling of the powder does not specify the egg content a manufacturer’s declaration certifying that the egg component is less than 10 per cent (by dry weight) is required. Products with more than 10 per cent egg content and/or containing discernable pieces of egg require an import permit.

Protein powders containing animal derived ingredients such as enzymes eg. pancreatin, trypsin, rennet and insulin and bovine serum albumin have an associated quarantine risk and may require an import permit.

Highly processed substances that are listed as pharmaceutical excipients on the ICON database are not regarded as a quarantine risk in these products.

Import conditions can be accessed via the DAFF Biosecurity Imports Condition database (ICON). This database lists the Quarantine conditions under which various commodities may be imported into Australia.

Note: A non–commercial consignment is considered to be an item that is imported for non–commercial (personal) use in quantities of no more than 10 kilograms or 10 litres of the one type of item."

  • Thank you! got rocky road with a referral link ;)

  • This looks sweet, do referrers get credited $10 on referral registration or purchase?

  • All the Best to those who Order this from overseas. Customs love to block this. I really dont understand why they do. but it possibly have to do with Egg content and not enough information! But at $18 you dont have much to loose. What really pi$$es me of is that they stop imports if an individual imports when the same product has no problem being sold instores thru importers

  • Err. I hope newbies buying this know that protein is usually blocked by customs. You're throwing caution to the wind by doing this.

If this is a deal, basically every supplement from an o/s shop is a deal. But half the stuff we can't import despite it being sold in local shops. Oh well

    • Not necessarily the case from my experience.

I get all my protein powder from truenutrition.com (a yank provider), and I order quite large quantities every time, i.e. 32lbs / ~14.5kg

Have placed multiple orders over the years, maybe around 5 - 6, every time it gets opened by customs and they leave their little calling card in the box, but I get it delivered without any hassle.

      • Thanks !!
Exactly what ive been searching for
They sell pea protein and its cheap

What shipping fees where u paying for 32lb

        Thanks

      • lol i used to get from trueprotein as well…

@easternculture, their direct shipping is expensive. try freight forwarders like comgateway

      • I've ordered all different types of protein from the states including ON and never had a problem through customs. Like Realmholder said they leave their little card and off it goes.

The only time I've even had a delay through customs was when we ordered over 15kgs as a group order. This included at least 3 different brands but again it got through with a little card in each box.

  • Holy crap, shipping goes through the roof with the 5kg bags - $50+!

    • +7

      No whey !!!

    • get from local. less risk and shipping fee…

  • Can you buy 5 of these at that price each in one shipment? If thats the case that is way cheaper then the 10lbs bags, US and AUS prices.

    • Pretty sure that price includes the one time $10 discount for using a referral link

  • Just a warning here before we start taking down referral links in the comments:

    • Please see the latest announcement regarding posting referral links in OzBargain, especially that referral links in comments should no longer be posted.
    • Please make it clear that purchasing using the Vitacost referral link DOES NOT always get you $10 off. The referral link will get you $10 off on your first purchase (for new accounts only).
    • Very cool system, I like it :)

    just got mine delivered today
