5% off Discount Day in-Store for Eligible Pensioner Concession Cardholders (First Wednesday of Every Month) @ Kmart

180

From the Kmart Facebook Page in a recent comment thread, and I confirmed in private message afterwards:

We offer a Pensioner Discount Day on the first Wednesday of every month. The 5% discount is available for Commonwealth Government Pensioner Concession Cards or Commonwealth Government Department of Veterans Affairs Health Cards only. Commonwealth and State Government seniors cards are not accepted for this offer.

The offer is available in-store only, at all stores nationally.

From other private groups and discussions it seems hit & miss whether the staff member you encounter will know of this offer, but you can advise them that there should be a dedicated 'pension discount button' on their screen that says 5% off. Worst case scenario, you can show them the comment from Kmart directly.

I'm actually quite mad that Kmart do not make this known at all, but they do provide the information IF YOU ASK. I get why, but it still leaves a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth.

  • How does this compare with staff discount?

Isn't is also 5% off? Probably not stackable.

Every time I've used this the staff member has to call someone to ask if it's a thing and how to process it.

      • Is it officially posted somewhere?

It’s only shared by Kmart if you ask them. They do not advertise it anywhere, not even on their website. I get the impression they don’t want people using it, so I’m not sure why they even offer it, but there you have it.

@Buyer0fBargains: Yeah, not a fan of asking and then them (maybe) honouring it and making you feel like you are somehow cheating them out of money heh

@Rain Cloud: Ye I'm the same. I honestly don't know why they have to make it difficult, it's 5%. To most, and especially to Wesfarmers, it's barely a drop in the bucket. But to pensioners, every cent matters. Don't make us jump through ridiculous hoops.
