Posted this deal today and I noticed that next to my username top left it had the grey tag "Referrer"
What does this mean as I've not seen it on my posts before? Looking now, its been removed.
Cheers

Ah got it, thanks.
Can't you write "function removeTag" or whatever?
If the question is "can or cannot", then the answer would be — yes we can. The reality is "we aren't doing it due to complexity". We are already doing on-the-fly Amazon aff tag removal on the main URL. However, our general purpose link checking function is implemented as micro-service optimised for parallel validation of links (spam, affiliate, referral links) and adding affiliate/referral link removal would add some complication. These are designed to detect hundreds of different aff networks & referral links, with HTTP or HTML redirects. Adding "removeTag" functionality would require re-architecturing with little benefit.
Ah yeah, I guess removing one specific affiliate tag format would be straight forward, but a hundred different formats from different sites and services would need a hundred different functions. Or one crazy big function.
Check the revision history. The Amazon link you posted containing an affiliate tracking parameter. You might have got that link from somewhere else (boardgameoracle.com?) and it got detected by our system, and a mod went in to clear that up.
