  • Do you think the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 will feel much more powerful than the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 3 Lite? I find acceleration on the 3 Lite a bit.. lite.

      stop abusing the neg button

  • grabed a Refurbished F40A for $410 from this seller this afternoon. Good price for an entry level scooter.

  • Am pretty overweight on nearly 100kg, hope this scooter holds the weight

I got a Segway MiniPro (hoverboard) which I already get used to the segway app
Sadly VIC is still illegal to ride hoverboard (except for certain exemptions) so really keen to get a escooter

this is my first scooter hope I will get used to it

    • +1

I used to be overweight and hit the payload limit on one. It worked perfectly fine except always being 1-2km/h off the max speed, so expect reduced battery life.

    • Maybe consider a cheap road bike if you're concerned about your weight. Cheaper, more efficient, safer, versatile, exercise, environmentally friendly etc.

Hey @Clear, I'm interested in getting myself an escooter and just wondering what model (of ANY escooter) might be the most user serviceable? I.e. battery replacement, breaks, motor, etc? If I'm going to buy one, I want it to last a long time and not just be a toy that I upgrade a couple years later.

Happy to wait for the tech to get better and more used serviceable if it looks like that might be on the horizon.

    • as one of the market leader in escooter I think Segway is designed to be pretty serviceable
I checked on youtube and some earlier models already available to purchase battery replacement with official guidelines
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnBac072coY

However not sure about other parts like breaks or motors
probably not worth to repair the motor as the cost will be close to getting a new one….

    • +2

Segway are always going to better in terms of build quality and the availability of parts. They're pretty easy to repair and currently Panmi have service centres and Segway themselves have just entered Australia directly.

When it comes to upgrading people are always seeking more speed and range. Getting something like the F65, G65 or Max G2 will have better batteries and the G65/Max G2 have suspension.

      • +1

Great, thanks. I don't like buying cheap stuff that's irreparable. Might wait for a Segway model with suspension before biting the bullet.

  • Is there a way to unlock the max speed?

    • AFAIK nothing yet for the F65 series.

  • $700 for a scooter with no suspension, throw it in the bin, spend more and get a better scooter like vsett

  • Got G65 last night and it has been shipped today! NICE

  • I was looking at getting my son the F40A but it’s more expensive than this - is this a better option?

    • This is much better than the F40A, with 50% more energy storage (561 Wh vs 367 Wh). The 400W RWD motor is great - (350W FWD for the F40A) The only negative of the F65 is the weight is quite high (21.6 kg vs 15.8 for the F40A).

I just purchased from this seller using this deal, and am happy with the scooter, other than the front wheel vertical alignment being off - requiring me to undo and then redo the front wheel nut. The seller wasn't overly helpful…

The F65 ride is fantastic and the indicators are great, that makes me feel much safer on the road. Sure beats trying to stick out an arm while slowing down for a corner!

      • What's your riding experience on bumpy road due to the lack of suspension?

        • +2

I try to look where I'm riding and avoid bumpy roads, and also ride in a snowboard style with slightly bent knees, so not a huge issue for me.

But yeah, suspension would be nice - the new F2 Pro with front suspension looks great as it is still quite light compared to the G65, but a fair bit more expensive (>$1.1K) and a little less range (55Km)

      • +1

Thanks for this - I ordered one! I’m sure my boy will love it.
