man WA getting soaked
NSW can get soaked becoz they can afford it
In its submission to the inquiry, the Western Australian Government argued that 90 per cent of its iron ore royalty collections were effectively transferred to other states through the GST distribution.
“If Western Australia decided not to impose a royalty on iron ore, it would gain nearly all the lost revenue back in increased GST (which all other States would lose) – nearly $7 billion yearly,”
Just sounds like non-WA states getting butt hurt they can't contribute to the economoy
That’s what decades of protectionist agriculture programs will get WA.
I remember when the prosciutto wrapped noisettes were $2/kg on the business site
Still have 8 of them in the freezer 😂
Support the farmers. Livestock prices have dropped by up to 50% in the last year due to too much supply and not enough demand. So there should be specials on lamb at the moment and by eating more lamb now when it’s cheaper, you can help farmers to reduce the extra supply and hopefully international demand may pick back up. Although there’s also a processing constraint with the lack of labour at the abattoirs.
Ethical Ozbargaining 🤝. My stomach agrees
I mean, if they give me discounts I'll buy, but if the prices at the supermarkets stay the same when the farmers are getting paid half, then there is a problem. Will keep a lookout though.
You must be kidding, aren't you?The meat at least 20-30% increased from last year even the chickens are expensive now
Well I hate international demand on our fresh livestock and produce. Serve locals as priority! I remember when live lobsters were cheaper because of less Chinese demand.
Now they're essentially ripping me off, I think I paid like $260ish for just under 2kg.
Yes, overseas buyers get the best of our produce.
That is because they pay even higher prices.
Which one would think is strange as they pay more freight. But it it is a well known economic thing. The freight cost actually means the higher quality stuff at higher prices goes OS.
I like your intentions but this doesn't support farmers at all. Retailers like the duopoly of Coles and Woolworths are the harshest negotiatiors in the game. They screw farmers as hard as they can, whilst charging consumers ridiculous disproportionate prices. Lamb cutlets are $37/kg which is just disgusting. Also, somehow chicken is now almost the same price as Pork. Tomatoes were 13/kg at one stage for no reason at all, they just did it because they could. I notice they do this on select products randomly on alternating days of the week, similar to the fuel cycle scam that occurs in some states within Australia.
Thanks. Lamb all week for me.
Lamb > beef > chicken > pork .
Lamb is mainly grass fed, chicken and pork factory farmed with cheapest nastiest feeds available.

Red meat shown to be a major contributor to high levels of heart disease, the biggest killer in many western countries Australia included.
https://www.heartfoundation.org.nz/about-us/news/media-relea…
“The latest evidence shows eating high levels of red meat can increase the risk of heart disease and stroke. Research shows eating less than 350g of unprocessed red meat a week can reduce this risk. That's about three lean red-meat meals a week," says Heart Foundation Chief Advisor Food and Nutrition, Dave Monro.
It was found that each additional 100g of red meat eaten per day was associated with a 15 per cent higher risk of heart disease and a 12 per cent higher risk of stroke.
The review of the latest science also showed it’s more heart healthy when red meat is replaced with other plant-based protein options.”
