140

Saw a compressor driven ice cream maker from cusinart at costco ringwood today for $250. Down from $400, $150 off.
Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo, but I believe it is this model. https://www.costco.com.au/Kitchen-Laundry-Appliances/Small-A…
From the price listed online, I believe it is in store only price. This is very good price one with compressor.

    "commercial". LMFAO.
Probably can't even make 0.5L of ice-cream per hour.

I have this, pretty good ice cream maker. Makes about 1L of icecream. For a quicker turnaround, turn it on and make the container ice cold before making your ice cream. I made two batches yesterday!

  • I have a similar device, the Breville with the compressor and also the Ninja Creami and I much prefer the Creami to the ice cream maker with the compressor. The Creami was still sub $300, so it wasn't much more than this device.

If you don't mind sharing, why do you prefer the Creami?

The ice cream you get from the compressor machine doesn't keep well - you have to eat it when you make it. Any left overs you put in the freezer ends up as a block of ice. The ice cream you get from the Creami keeps the ice cream texture when you put them back in the freezer.

Keeping the compressor machine clean is a lot of hassle, where as the Creami is easy and quick to clean.

Creami requires overnight prep, but actual time using the machine is like 5 minutes, where as it takes an hour or more for the compressor machine.

Creami can make pretty much anything into 'ice cream' whereas you have to be very careful with the recipes for the compressor machine.

Hot tip… inatead of using 300ml of milk band cream, use 150 m l wach and 300ml of pouring custards.

Cheaper than cream and fluffier for longer.

Just say no to milk band cream. As an aficionado I too prefer the 150 m I wach.

Oh wow, auto carrot really did a doozie on me there!

Instead of 300ml cream AND Milk, use 150 of each and 300ml of pouring custard.

  • Also great for slushy just pour a can on your favourite soda and wait, pre chilled the faster the results.
