Best Toilet Plunger?

What's the best type of toilet plunger? A bit of Googling pointed me towards "beehive" style, like a US one called the Korky.
Looking online at Bunnings there's this one that looks closest to that.

I've seen plumbers with the bellows style ones like this one.

There's also this type that I think seals at the bottom of the s-bend, and this similar one.

The toilet in question is a cheapie we got from Bunnings.

Which one would be best? Or something else?

What's the best type of toilet plunger?

The one you never need to use.

  • Have you had issues with a standard plunger ?
Do you have a toilet that has a unique design that would make a standard plunger less effective?
Do you plan to show of your plunger to guests?

If no , get a standard plunger.

    • We had the cheapest standard one Bunnings sold. It was okay but not great. It was hard to get a good seal. It recently broke so I thought this time I'd see whether one of these more serious looking ones would do a better job.

Sounds more like treating the symptoms than the underlying cause…

        • Yes it is. It's an old house built by my partner's uncle as a temporary place to stay on their now derelict peach farm. The plumbing was done done babdly by a mate of there's. We've had it replaced but there's a section under the slab they can't get at that keeps getting roots into it. We've been

@redrich2000: Don't put wet-wipes down the toilet, they will get stuck on those tree roots, or any rough broken patches in the pipe.

Hot soapy water can help break down toilet paper stuck in pipes. Don't buy the thickest toilet paper, get the eco stuff.

If you have to use a plunger this often, you have a much bigger issue.

Right tool for the job depends on the matter at hand.

Something like this is effective against blowback.

    • Blowback 😬😬😬

    • We have one these. It was never any use. Hard to get down the pipes and not long enough. I did think about getting a longer one of these as well. But I definitely want good plunger.

That's just a poop knife with extra steps.

  • I've used the second one and always works a treat with minimal effort.

Far better to get a poop knife.

Man up and use your fist

    • and if that doesn't work, use Duke's Mighty Foot!

  • You're on a bush block.
Bang in a long drop dunny or DIY composting toilet. Why wrestle with shit when you don't have to. Chuck the composted proceeds around the fruit trees.

( Any visitors who don't like it, tell them to wait to use their own when they go home)

the accordion style plungers are difficult to fully clean so you end up leaving tissues and poop on
