International Post Postage Stamps: $200 Face Value for $155.00 + Delivery @ Perforated Stamps

60

I now have postage stamps for international post!

What's the difference between these and local stamps?

These stamps are specially for sending mail overseas as they are GST-free (with local stamps you need to add an additional 10% to the postage costs)

They are harder to come by as they are more recent issues with a higher face value.

I also have a limited quantity of booklets so for those who get quantities or 2 of more, I will include one of these booklets in your mystery pack which will be combined as 1x $400 FV pack:

https://auspost.com.au/shop/product/chequebook-of-100x-3-70-…

Shipping is between $9.70 - $22.00 depending on weight.

Imagine getting sent $200 worth of 5c stamps

Definitely not with these as they are higher value.

And I try to mix them up with the normal mystery packs otherwise the weight is insane.

Denominations between 5c and $20, these are randomly selected
Mint with gum on the back, may be hinged.
May show signs of age such as rust stains
Can be used for postage or as a collectible
Not sorted, all denominations are mixed together
May be loose stamps, sheets, post office packs, mini sheets, booklets, it’s a mystery!

So not all of them can be used for letters or postcards (too large denominations) or not used at all, because they're damaged, to my understanding.

I was about to ask how a person/company can be selling post stamps 25% than the post itself, but it all looks like they might be pre-loved.

    Happy to be corrected here!

      these are randomly selected

I suspect it's not really random.

jv having useful comments is not really random or common sadly

Having hinges (which can be removed), or being aged/rust stains shouldn't prevent usage.

    • Not at all, all stamps can be used for postage. They may be old and show signs of age but they have not through the mail which is why they are still valid for postage.

People used to collect all sorts of stamps, some collectors only like mint stamps (not used), others like used stamps and some a mix. You can have a 4c stamp from 1966 which you never got around to using and use it today. It is preloved in the sense someone else owned it but not used as it's never been through the post. Think of it as new old stock if that makes sense.

Occasionally I do also get new new stock because companies go bust and they have to get rid of their postal supplies somehow.

      Hope that makes sense.

  • Do you deal in marked stamps at all?

      • Yes thank you. But they are out of stock at the moment.

Do you ever deal in stamps that are postmarked AND still attatched to the whole envelope etc?

        • +1

I do occasionally though I usually deal with stamps for postage. If you'd like a mystery pack of postmarked envelopes, message me, and I'll see what I can do.

  • So why do people buy used stamps? Collector's item?

    • Yes

    • This deal suggests that you can use these to post things, but the OP hasn't clarified yet.

      • used stamps cannot be used again as they get cancelled (stamped with a marker over the top)
These stamps seem to be rather old stock etc and could show some wear.

That's what you'd think some time ago, but you haven't received a letter in a while!

only two of 20 stamps were franked when sent to the CBD from locations as far as 100km away during the past three weeks.

And that's from 2015. I guess AusPost wouldn't be bothered stamping/franking international mail either.

But how those stamps would be sourced - I don't know. Either way, I wish the stamps in this deal were surefire for postcards/letters.

@pizzaguy: if you want stamps of a certain denomination just shoot me a message and I'll see what I can do.

I source stamps from stamp collectors and dealers so all is above board. Stamp collecting used to be a massive hobby in the 70/80s but has since died down hence why I can sell them at a discounted rate.

In philately terms, used means postmarked these cannot be used again in the post and to do so it illegal (even though some cheeky people may do so)

These are preloved (once owned by someone else) but unused stamps, think new old stock. And depending on how the collector stored them they might show signs of age.

People do indeed buy used postmarked stamps as collectors items. Certain ones of quite valuable too but you have to know what to look for.
