  • Anyone had used this product? What is the rice taste like compared to other normal rice cookers?

    • +1
    • Cuckoo product is famous for a pressure rice cooker. however, CR-0631F is just an electric rice cooker without pressure cooking. It would be similar to other conventional rice cookers.

      • Thank you I think this makes perfect sense.

TBH being an asian with eating / cooking rice for the many years
I didn't notice "pressure" rice cooker makes better rice than normal rice cooker
However IH rice cooker does improve the life span of the pot because heat is evenly distributed rather than heating at the bottom

        • Yeh the IH 6 cup cooker being $500 just seems too exy for me.

        • +2

There are several factors involved in cooking good rice, including the quality of the rice itself, the proper ratio of rice to water, and the cooking method employed. I believe that using a Cuckoo pressure cooker enhances the stickiness of a certain type of rice, resulting in a desirable texture. However, it's important to note that the choice of cooking style ultimately depends on individual preferences for rice texture and consistency.

If you desire to enhance the taste of your rice, it may be more effective to consider changing the type or quality of rice rather than focusing solely on the cooker.

          • @junglejuice: Curious, what type of rice do you prefer / recommend?

            • @Kaines: It is hard to go wrong with any Koshihikari rice for the pressure cooker. You can definitely distinguish the difference.

    • I've used the 1009S only, so can't comment on this one. The modes are a little confusing translating the rice types, but the manual covers it off

    • taste amazing. cooks perfectly every time even when i don't put enough water, or put too much water. it also keeps it warm for a several days. my old kmart rice cooker would burn the bottom. you can't let it attempt to keep it warm, it would just burn the bottom.

Is it just me, I find him not funny at all.

        • +5

          Come on, he's hilarious

What about when he made fun of somebody's cooking on YouTube and pulled faces and said "haiyaa" a lot

Or that time he made fun of somebody's cooking on YouTube and pulled faces and said "haiyaa" a lot

Let's not forget that classic time he made fun of somebody's cooking on YouTube and pulled faces and said "haiyaa" a lot

Maybe we both. I find it annoying and repetitive.

I bought this in store for $124.99 and absolutely love it.

Going to try GABA rice one day since this is set up for it.

Best rice I've ever had, including restaurants

  • Wish they did IH with no pressure, seems the only option to get that with Cuckoo is their Twin Pressure ones which let you cook with or without pressure but those are like $800+
