Saw this last night and bought the choc mud cake. Pretty average

I will go for the Black Forest.

I had black forest an hour ago.. very cheap ice cream, probably the worst you could buy at the supermarket. Reminded me more of chocolate frozen ice, rather than ice 'cream'

@balexa47: Thanks dude! I'll skip on the purchase than.

Yeah I thought they were very ordinary.

Didn't taste like cheesecake (nor any detectable chunks of cheesecake in them).

Seems like another "Sara Lee Ice-Cream": a crappy ice-cream company buys the rights to make ice-cream with a tasty-sounding brand name, and charges a premium price, but the actual ice-cream is not premium at all. Stingey on the ingredients, low effort recipe, cheap-and-nasty stuff.

        Also:

        Anyway I saw this article

If you click on the article, it's not actually an article at all. Clearly an ad.

Daily fail charge extra for ads to make them look like a newspaper article, so their clueless readers don't realise it's just an ad.

They've been doing this for years, the only difference now is they made a clumsy fellow-kids attempt at a paying an "influencer" dude to do a tiktok-ish video "review" for the ad too.

  • I did not know these existed either but now I must have them

    • +6

They are quite new. Im not too keen on the flavour. For $6 on special the Cadbury ice cream is better.

      • What's not good about it? Fake tasting?

        • +1

Well, every other ice cream you can buy tastes better than these cheesecake whop ones.

The taste of these ice creams do resemble the cheesecake shop cakes, but something is not quite right about them.

It was interesting that these ice creams were produced and it was something i had high hopes, but they proved disappointing.

@Crownanchor: I just finished the caramel one, not bad but still overpriced at $6.

Had the Black Forest one also but agree, not quite right.

  • calories per tub?

  • Black Forrest is my favourite cake so will try that.

If only they also had a Coffee Pecan.

    does blackforest taste like bushfire?

    • too soon

        noway its been 3 years
and this past summer wasnt even scorching either

  • +4

If they taste like their cakes I will avoid them.

    • Beat me to it. Utter rubbish.

    • +3

I am a fan of their cakes… well, I don't go often but I enjoyed the Missississipi Baked American

  • +2

stuff youse…im gonna try some anyway

    • +3

      you tell 'em, Franco!

  • Try the Blackforest choc block, pretty tasty

  • Endorsed by some nobody called Nick Vavatis.

    • Do you know him personally by any chance?

      • Not at all. He's just some Insta influencer who waffled on about how great this Cheesecake Shop ice cream was when it was first launched. He's now got a deal with Woolies and flogs his own desserts or whatever.

        • +3

          Sounds like your typical effluencer.

  • This deal is still on, at least online. All the links are $6 per tub.

So I got one and even dough they weren't bad (as long as you don't read the endless ingredients list), I was surprised the all-brown tub clerarly marked as CHOCOLATE MUDCAKE is actually lots of plain-ish vanilla with sparse "choc" bits.
