In Sydney for the weekend in few weeks,
planning to driving up to the Blue mountains and back (Fri to Sun) so require a car

So you want two different recommendations? Cheapest will never be the best. you get what you pay for.
But as djones145 said, nobirds will be your best bet if they have availability. I wouldn't use anything Uber, for that distance.
Consider train if convenient. Much cheaper and if you're bushwalking, don't have to go back to same spot where you parked.
Cheapest would have booking earlier rather than a few weeks beforehand.
Try good ol' Balmain rentals where every car needs four drivers: one to steer, one to push, and two to hold the mirrors.
