Monday Morning Meltdown

OK it's Monday morning
Can't log in to Flybuys account because SMS verification isn't working. Google verification has been on and off.
TPG FTTB connection has dropped out 'incorrect password', not.
Can't access balances or do transfer on my Commbank accounts, please try again later.
Now that we all depend on these technologies I wish these companies would spend a little more to make them reliable 😡
Don't get me started on the 'we are experiencing a higher volume of calls' (apparently all the time now) phone queue standard wait of 30 minutes!

      You can check your balance and redeem points by phoning, it's an auto system, I discovered this morning!

    Flybuys is years behind woolies rewards. Why do i still need a card to redeem my points?

    • even the fuel docket, woolies dockets are digital for years and coles/lybuys just started it.

      So people don't steal your flybuys dollars, like you can do with Woolies Rewards with just a barcode.

    • I have added the Flybuys barcode to my apple wallet. Also fuel dockets are now part of the app, it's not printed in the receipt any more.

        You are still not able to use your flybuys dollars with just the barcode unless you have a Coles Mastercard.

        • Are you saying I won't get $10 off on occasion if only scan the card on the phone, unless I have a coles mastercard?

            @soan papdi: I'm saying on the flybuys app, you can redeem 2,000 points for $10 flybuys dollars.

            In order to use that $10 flybuys dollars, you will need to have the physical flybuys card with you and swipe it during payment.

            I've been told you can avoid this by using Coles mastercard linked to your flybuys and there is a pop up for you to use the flybuys dollars.

            The comment you replied to specifically mentions redeeming points for flybuys dollars and that is the same experience I have had.

  • Does everyone keep a backup with Google Authentication on another mobile kept somewhere safe (or backup codes bs), well theres no plan B if ones looses mobile which is the only plan A 🤔

    • I use KeepassXC.org as my password manager, and it allows saving 2FA along with the password. The database file is synced via iCloud. iCloud Keychain also allows saving 2FA codes. Ditch the Google Authenticator app, Google is EvilCorp.

    Try to focus your energy on things you can control, not those you cannot. Yes it's frustrating but it's not worth letting things you can't control ruin your day. Go out for a walk or read a book, and try again later. Is your flybuys, bank transfer, etc urgent?

    Thanks guys. The meltdown referred to services rather than me… went to the gym. We talk about price gouging and shrinkflation, but what about the cutbacks in customer service and service quality? I'm sick of losing hours of my life to outages, glitches and phone queues, there's a cost to me in lost time and productivity.

      Sadly that’s the way the world is moving. More money for c-suite and less for the workers, resulting in poor customer service. Productivity will continue to tank as more people realise that no matter how hard they work they’ll never achieve their dreams.

    After opting into the recent Velocity auto-transfer promo, and then turning it off after the promo was over, FB decided to unlink my Velocity account.
    Now I cannot link my Velocity account any more, and FB has no bloody idea why.

    • I unlinked my QFF from Everyday Rewards with the same result!

  • Tried to use my card at Costco this morning and got a decline and the staff immediately apologised for the decline due to their end system (CBA merchant), tried second time with a different card and it went through.

  • Missus says why do i carry some cash and even though i use eftpos 9 times out of 10 i like to have cash for those rare occasions the system is down or power is out.
