    Flashback 2 is coming soon

Oh this has a rewind feature? Nice.. one of the things I recall about this from back in the day was how unforgivingly hard it was 😅
    Never did actually finish it..

I loved it as a kid and I definitely finished it, though I felt underwhelmed at the ending as it was to be continued type one. I'd pretty much do it up to the game show level and quit finishing that.

Any fans of Flashback here tried out Lunark? Came out a couple of months ago and looks pretty good… I just haven't had time to play anything https://store.steampowered.com/app/1050370/LUNARK/

    • I appreciate the charm (and am a fan) of pixelated graphics, but this one seems to be way too pixelated. The point of pixelated graphics is to envoke a sense of nostalgia reminiscent of the mid to late 80s of the video game industry. This is just straight-up Atari 2600.

      • I think it was originally inspired by the Game Gear, which explains the compressed style. I actually really like it, but can understand why it's not everyone's thing.

        • Interesting, thanks for clarifying.

    • I’m curious about the opposite. I loved Lunark, but haven’t played Flashback, which it inspired it. I can’t answer your question, but can say that I enjoyed Lunark, and I tend to be fussy, and rarely finish games.

      • Flashback, Another World and Prince of Persia all get thrown around in the same sentence, but I personally think Flashback stands head and shoulders above the other two.

For a buck fifty you can't go wrong on this deal imo

i have this on every thing lol its a cool classic worth getting.

  • Was this originally on the Sega MegaDrive? I feel like this was one of the few games I had on my first ever hand-me-down console from my uncle.

I was too young to understand what was going on, but it seemed fun.

Pretty sure it was originally released on the Amiga, thats where I first played it. The console releases were a year or so later.

      • It was designed for the Sega Mega Drive but released on the Amiga first.

    • Yeah I had it on the MegaDrive

Sorry, bro, I was a new born baby, this game is not my style.

  • I remember renting this from Video Ezy to play on my Super Ninetendo. I ended up getting it on GOG during covid lockdowns to replay, and finished it with the heavy use of a video walkthrough (games were made much tougher back then)

    • Yeah, games used to actually be games, not just bloated eye feasts.

      Spoilers ahead!!!

I had this on the Amiga. Played through it multiple times and got up to the self-destruct sequence on the last planet but never worked out how to escape into the ship. Finally, on what must've been my third or fourth playthrough, I was getting super frustrated at where I felt the end game point should be with the clock ticking down and just started mashing the joystick. Turns out there was a bleeping elevator hidden by some foreground foliage right on that spot and triggering it finished the game.

I was gobsmacked as the final cutscene rolled through. Couldn't believe I'd come so close to finishing it that many times.

I mean… what were they thinking hiding the elevator like that? Jurassic Park did something similar with a pathway and some bushes, but that was near the start of the game. Not right at the end as a friggin timer was ticking down!

      Life before the internet XD

  • One of my favourite games of all time, so I think it is well worth the price. Loved playing it on the Amiga back in the day.

  • Ahhh… Once upon a time……

  • Doesn't have the original SNES music. Is the original sound based on Amiga?

One of my all time favourite Amiga games👍

  • Anyone remember the sequel Fade to black that was sick

    • Remember playing the demo (back when you'd get a bunch of demos on CD glued to a magazine). Can't recall whether I liked it or not and never saw the full copy for sale anywhere

  • This game is on the miyoo mini.
