Electric Sit Stand Desks EOFY deals (Home Office)

Hi All,

I am looking to purchase an electric sit stand desk. There are quite a few EOFY deals on at the moment across OmniDesk, Desky etc. Compared to normal pricing, are these deals actually good?

I am not sure I am ready to pull the trigger on buying the desk just yet, but I also don't want to miss out on a good deal.

Any suggestions on what is best to go with. I am happy to spend a bit of money, but looking for something with the best balance of price vs quality (solid desktop material, good motors, sturdy)?

I have an omnidesk. It’s a few years old, but I think it’s the pro equivalent. It’s very sturdy. If you’re raising or lowering it and something is in its way, it stops moving. I only have the basic white benchtop and that is also quite sturdy too.

Wife and I have Omnidesk Pros (since 2020). I had issues with my motor late last year and Omnidesk aftersales service was pretty good in diagnosing and then ultimately replacing the motor at no cost. Apart from that, the desks have been great but my XL has started to bend inwards due to the amount of tech I've got on the desk.

If I were going to replace my unit, I'd get the Ascent Wildwood. In terms of Omnidesk accessories, I'd recommend the power clamp, cable management bar, pc mount, Atlas fatigue mat (if you don't have carpet) and maybe a Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus (or cheaper alternative) for good background desk lighting.

My main tip for standup desks would be for you to find the biggest powerboard you can get and stick it on the bottom of your desk using double-sided tape. That way, less chance of any of your equipment having their plugs pulled out at ground level everytime you raise your desk.

Jumped on UpDown EOFY deal. Had it for a little over a week. Very happy with it

I bought the Zen Easy frame for $99 back in April, and bought a top from bunnings. Assembly is really easy, and desk is very sturdy even on the max height. One tip I will give, make sure your powerboard has enough slack for the extension of the desk, and depending on what you're connecting, aim to have a 6 or 8 port one. This will avoid any issues when raising it. Overall, no complaints. Currently I think the easy one is $250 with the table top, so 10/10 recommend.
    Good luck!!!

This is a great point. Seconded.

Mine has enough slack for my sit/stand uses, but I often raise mine to its highest to vacuum/clean more easily underneath, and I need to unplug the powerboard to get to that max height.

  • I'm after a 1400 X 700 desk. Any recommendation for a specific brand?
