GOG's Summer Sale 2023-related Insomnia deals, as per their news announcement:
For those of you who are not familiar with it – Insomnia is the perfect opportunity to snatch great games on extremely good discounts. But you have to turn into a true bargain hunter to do so!
Starting from now (June 23rd, 1 PM UTC), once every 3 hours, an awesome title will appear with an even more awesome discount. During those 3 hours you can grab it, before it’s replaced with another game and gets back to its regular Summer Sale discount. Be sure to do it quickly though, as these offers also have a limited number of copies! The last Insomnia offer will appear on June 25th, 1 AM UTC.
First game on the Insomnia’s menu is Interstellar Space: Genesis discounted -90%!
- Insomnia promo event starts from Friday June 23rd 11:00PM AEDT and finishes on Sunday June 25th 2:00PM AEDT
- Interestingly, AFAICT, the pricetracking websites IsThereAnyDeal and gg.deals are NOT able to scrape and historically display many of GOG's Insomnia-specific prices, only their regular non-Insomnia sale discounts.
- I'm not sure if I can keep up with maintaining a cumulatively updated table again - in any case, I'd encourage anyone (insomniacs or not …) to write comments on this deal post, if they spot a GOG Insomnia deal/discount they like (or dislike) or reckon is a good (or poor) deal
How does GOG's Insomnia Deals work?
- There will be a total of 13 games/bundles that will each get an 'Insomnia discount'
- Every 3 hours, at the top of the hour, one specific game gets discounted, at a discount rate (the 'Insomnia discount') that is deeper than the 'regular' discount that might already be there due to the current 'GOG Summer Sale 2023' promotion.
- Each 'Insomnia discounted' game has limited stock, e.g. 300 copies up for grabs, for that 3 hour period.
- Whichever comes first (end of the 3 hour period / out of stock), that game will stop getting the 'Insomnia discount'.
- At the end of the 3 hour period, a new game replaces it and is showcased with its particular 'Insomnia discount' rate, and the previous game's listed price then reverts back to its normal price (or the 'regular' discounted price if there happened to be one before it was highlighted as an Insomnia Deal).
- If you happen to already have a currently 'Insomnia discounted' game in your library, you can't purchase another copy of it during that Insomnia discount period of 3 hours.
IMPORTANT: to obtain the 'Insomnia discount', you have to use the GOG.com landing page's Insomnia section for that game you're interested in, and click the 'Buy Now' button on the Insomnia page section:
- if you go directly to that game's specific page listing on the GOG store instead, and then click 'Buy', the 'Insomnia discount' will NOT be applied (it will either be the regular price or 'regular' discount if there was one at the time).
