Darwin Meetup

Something seemingly missing from last year's 16th Birthday Meetups (and every year) was that there was none in NT. Well as a one off, let's do a Darwin meetup.

I guess the 1st question is, do Darwin/NT OzBargainers exist? If so, drop a comment below.

2nd, did you want to meetup (OzBargain's shout) maybe on 3rd of July if you want dinner or 3/4/5 for maybe a late afternoon coffee cold drink.

3rd I have t-shirts. If you can attend a meetup or just want to grab a t-shirt, I can bring you a t-shirt but you have to let me know before 30/6.

    Great work Neil - thanks for organising and mentioning

    1. Yes, living in Darwin.

    2. I prefer a beverage as it's normally family (wife + toddler) time in the evening after work for me. A lot of the better cafes tend to close in the CBD after lunch-ish, but there's probably other options including pubs or pub-like places.

    3. Happy to collect a shirt if you don't mind.

        Black fellas isn't an offensive phrase, it just means "black fellows" in Australian Anglo English.

    I always have a mix of curiosity and cringe when it comes to discussion of irl meetups for online groups. If jv is from darwin and goes then i'll go, he's my hero. Otherwise i don't know you people.

          Are you sure? I'm imagining them to be female, about mid 50s, divorced, maybe a few adult children. Definitely wears Crocs and carries reusable fabric shopping bags everywhere. Homemade jewellery. Dries and reuses paper towels.

      Ha sure, do they get crowded with the $5 burrito deals? I know when they used to do the free burritos there would be long lines.

      July 3 is probably better for me as I'm doing a Katherine day trip on the 4th until about 6:30pm. But whatever works best for everyone.

      No real preference, thanks Neil. I will leave the wife and son sleeping at home if it's a later GYG. On July 3, I can bring them along as +1.5 if the venue suits?
