FIRST & ONLY CASK STRENGTH FIRKIN – BOTTLED FOR AUSTRALIA
If you're after an expression of a Sunday Brunch celebration, this would be it. Bright and lively with a myriad of fruitful flavours, the herbal freshness of Linkwood rolls into the delicious dessert intensity of Oloroso & Pedro Ximenez sherries with a hint of anise.
The beautiful balanced blend of raisin fruits and spicy oak makes it all quite singular. If zing is your thing then this dram is King. Truly Firkin Rare.
Bottled at natural cask strength.
Distillery: Linkwood
Cask Type/Finish: Oloroso & Pedro Ximenez
ABV: 56.8% ABV
Age: 12 Years Old
Cask No. SC30
I have this and it's a great sherry bomb. Better than A'Bunadh and 105 for about the same price.
About this whisky
Somehow we convinced Mike Collings (founder of Firkin Whisky Co. to sell us an entire cask of their Firkin amazing Caol Ila whisky. We picked it because of how much we loved the first 2012 edition (a 7yo released in 2019), and we're so Firkin glad we did!
This is finished in marsala casks and bottled at 48.9% ABV. I haven't got this one, but will soon.
These are two overlooked distilleries, single cask IBs (independent bottlings), bottlled at my personal sweetspot of 46-60% ABV. They're also Australian exclusives.

Join the rewards program thing using the referral link for half price $50, and you get a welcome email containing $40 credit essentially making membership $10 this has been turned off, but it's still buggy and works on certain accounts. Membership is now $100 except the few that got lucky. You will still get $40 credit.
* You get free shipping for any bottles sold from The Whisky List store. (they aggregate prices and availability from a lot of smaller vendors, and indy bottlos)
* You get points and other perks. I have received about $300 from points, but I've bought a lot of bottles, and I'm also a high functioning alcoholic
Haven't tried this one … or heard of it, does anyone vouch for it ?
Sherry casks are just getting rarer and rarer.
