23" Monitor to Run 2 Screens

Started WFH, have a typical dell laptop that I plug into the following display
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05076513
Which has been great IPS monitor that's still going well

Wanting to run 2 identical screens, but that monitor was built in 2015 it seems

Trying to find a good replacement for 2 screens under 500

Desk is 130 cm wide and and sits shallow so I don't think I could really go much larger

Thinking of running these

Any alternative for the same price / better specs?

Have you considered a single 27 or 32-inch 4K/UHD display?

    • Thought that might be over kill for working on pretty much office apps / teams ?

      • Well within your budget, one display, simpler connectivity, plenty of desktop space. But if you prefer low resolution try an ultrawide.

  • A single 32" is a much better option than 2x smaller 23". Especially for productivity and having two documents or applications side-by-side.

    • Definitely want to try and run 2-4 windows side by side

I wouldn't go for that HP you listed, the stand is fixed so no height adjustment or vesa mounting holes.

I would spend 500 on the biggest monitor you can find with 1440p and above resolution, then put the 23" you have in portrait mode to the side.

  • Definitely consider a single ultrawide.

Its neater on your desk and if you get a USB-C one you have a single cable solution.

You can even get ones with webcams built in, or if not the webcam can connect the the usb hub that's built into the monitor and you still have a single cable back to your laptop that can also charge it.

  • Thanks for the input
To put into context my screens are teams/outlook and a variety of dashboard style websites. (assume like seek)
Ive gone around in Circles all morning

Looked at 34" curved but they are all VA, I currently have an IPS, and well.. Im herding mixed opinions of if the difference is noticeable.

But now considering a flat screen, at 34" im guessing there wouldn't need to go curved?

Thanks for the advice, im going to keep going down the rabbit holes

    • No curved. No VA panel.

Get a 32" IPS or a 34" ultrawide IPS if prefer that (I don't for work as the screen height is lower so it's more vertical scrolling). Maybe pop into a HN or JB Hi-Fi to view some size options in person.

Most people leave MS Teams on the laptop screen and have their applications side-by-side on the large monitor.

    • We're living in 2023 so just think about it like your TV. Do you choose the largest, highest definition screen your room (and wallet) can accommodate, or do you look around on the fringes for ultra wide/curved or perhaps a composite wall made up of numerous small low-res screens? The answer is likely 34-inch 4K, just make sure you can sit far away enough. The elites in my workplace tried curved (gaming displays, rubbish for work) then 42-inch (stupidly large) then figured out that 34-inch is ideal for most.

    • With a flat 34" ultrawide, the viewing angle at the edges is quite high. YMMV, I personally really didn't like it at all.
