[WA] Free European Wasp Monitoring Trap @ Agriculture & Food Division, WA Dept of Primary Industries & Regional Development

190

DPIRD’s Adopt-a-trap program is a key part of Western Australia’s annual European wasp surveillance.

European wasps are not yet established in Western Australia. Trapping European wasps can help alert the department to suburbs where European wasp nest may be located, so that nests can be tracked down and destroyed.

Members of the public can sign up to “adopt” a surveillance trap and monitor it during the European wasp season. This trap won't control wasps or other insects, instead, it acts by attracting European wasps if they are nesting in your area.

    • @chompy78, response from AGRIC;
      I've passed it on to our web administrator who has gotten back to me with a little information. It appears that you've been able to access a decommissioned website due to an issue with our redirection.

      This error seems to only be occurring on mobile devices, so you should be able to access the correct site on a desktop computer. We are currently working to fix the issue on mobile devices.

      In the meantime, here is a link to the Agriculture and Food website 🙂 https://www.agric.wa.gov.au/

  • Do they need to collect the bottle every now and then ?

    • No, you provide information on what is captured.

  • Does this ship to TAS?

    • I assume not as they want to collect information for WA?
