Help Me Pick a TV from This List

Hi all, was looking for a 75inch tv for $1000 or less.

Could any TV gurus chime in on what the best pick from the below list is?

Option 1: TCL 75" QUHD 4K Google TV $999

Option 2: Toshiba 75" C350LP Series 4K UHD Google TV 2022 $999

Option 3: Kogan 75" QLED 4K Smart Google TV - Q98J $999

Option 4: Linsar 75" 4K UHD Smart Tizen TV 2022 $799

The TV's OS isn't a deciding factor as I'll be using a fire stick anyway. I'm looking for the one with the best value and user experience (I've thrown linsar in there but not entirely sure I trust the name).

Lastly, the prices are just grabbed from the website but I know there are some coupons that can be applied to each option.

Cheers

I'll go with TCL. Out of all those brands, TCL is one that produces LCD/LED panels for their own TVs and other brands like Samsung, etc.

price is at least 50% more lol

      • Is the TV 50% better? (Honest question - let's pretend we can put a number on it :) )

ok lets say i go down to 65"that about the same price as the rest $1000ish
will samsung better than that TCL above?

If you are on a budget there is no point putting numbers on anything.

          • @Eeples: Sure there is - when you're on a budget you absolutely want the best bang for buck - if you could (and we can't) easily quantify these things (ie, whack a number on it) then choosing would be soooooo (how many ooo's do I need?) much easier.

        these are refurbished units

        • +4

          Yep that's what I said

      • Edit: messaged the seller and they mentioned they're not refurbished. They're actually used units that were on display for 1 day at Melbourne cup. Not a bad deal I think, but only 6 months warranty.

    • Maybe you should make your own Post.

OP is not interested in a $1500 TV.

  • It's obvious

      And for the TV ignorant?

Comparing tvs without direct experience is challenging. A $2k one is better than a $1k one, but two $2k ones from different brands match pretty evenly.

The deals come when a tv is significantly reduced for some reason. That's when you can get a $2k tv for the price of much worse $1k ones.

Of the sets you have mentioned, it's a tossup. Would come down to personal opinion. My advice though, eliminate the Kogan one. Go with something local in case warranty is needed.

If you can raise your budget ever so slightly, maybe this one will suit?

LG which is $1075.50 after you apply the current EOFY discount.

Edit: That said, I don't think the LG will be leaps and bounds better than say, the TLC. Though reviews are fine, and it appears to be on runout, and looks like it originally sold for a few hundred more.

TCL and Linsar have 3 year warranty, Toshiba 2 years, and Kogan only 1 year.
    I would go with TCL.

  • not brands i would normally consider, but if i was to choose one: Toshiba as its made in japan

    • are you joking….

      • +1

And that is the reason Toshiba was able to make some money selling off the name.

    • Is it even made in Japan?

TV taste tester here, of all those brands I have tasted, TCL was the least salty.

  • I believe Toshiba is made by Hisense under licence now.

  • TCL

    Rest are rebranded crap.
