ATL from the camel god.
I've been wanting to test one of these since the eufy security drama.
It is cheaper to purchase the 3 pack, but this isn't an ATL - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09GJXNMGL?ref_=cm_sw_r_apan_dp…

Is it the same one, only $209,
https://www.binglee.com.au/products/google-nest-cam-outdoor-…Yes, good find!
I been using these for quite some time now and would highly recommend it. Some people complain about the lack of recording etc, but if you setup your 'seen' instances correctly it provides you with plenty of video footage in case you need it. I like the battery backup system and the seamless integration with other Google devices.
Unless you sign up to the $9.99 monthly fee you only get 3 hour of recording. Not 3 hours total, but literally the last 3 hours of time. I can't recommend them ebcause of that compared to other products that have free recording.
Curious to know who provides free recording so I can choose right product
Eufy has the base station which records i think its super small at 16gb but upgradeable via SD card or NAS.
@XCelR8: Upgradable memory only on the Home base 3.
Home base 2 only has 16GB of storage but I find it more than enough. Have 3 2C Pro cameras, Smart Doorbell, Smart Parcel Dropbox and Video Smart Lock and records weeks worth of human motion.
Can I ask what you use it for? Stupid question perhaps, but genuinely interested. I don't think it would stop a burglary, and I highly doubt police here would bother to check the footage if you had any.
Over $200 for a single camera? How good is this?
It's a shame they are so expensive compared to Wyze Cams, you can get two of them for under $115
would this be ideal for a rental? i don't want to drill holes in walls to put cameras up
Yes! The base is magnetic and EXTREMELY strong, the camera literally just connects via a magnet to the base part, the camera base magnet is not as strong though, but still very good!
Don't you need to connect the base to the wall with screws still? Agreed magnet on camera is great to connect to base, but what's holding your base on the wall?
I connected mine to the metal rafters, anything metal will hold the magnet extremely strong. Literally left mine up in the last cyclone and they were fine. I stand on a chair and put mine on the carport so not reachable by hands.
EDIT: yes you can screw them in and there is also a base to camera attachment so you cant run off with the camera, but mine are high enough you cant do that anyway.@XCelR8: P.S I caught my finger under the base plate and metal scaffolding and ended up with a small haematoma the magnet was that strong - hurt like hell!
Don't have zoom option, so not recommended for bed rooms 😉
You can zoom, check out my OF for the tutorial 👊
There is a zoom option :) like pinch to zoom as well without loss. But these are only 1080p but i think 3x optical.
The camera has a 1/4 inch mount so I used one of these to attach it to a decorative screen on my balcony. Quality of both camera and mount is excellent.

I've been contemplating getting one of these for some time.
My only concern is that it's held in by a magnet. For a single story house, there really isnt anything stopping someone from jumping up, grabbing the camera and taking it.
How have owners of this sec. cam overcome this? I know you can buy an add on that adds a metal string to it, but doesnt seem that good.
Cheers
Same as me, literally just placed them up high enough. Otherwise use the screws and attachment. Its a pity its not USB C charging otherwise I would just add a battery pack and charge on the go without having to move them like my Eufy ones.
The base magnet is extremely strong.
For anyone that has one, whats the battery life like? I have a google doorbell and have had to switch off seen events as i have high foot traffic in front of my property, and it was draining the battery (lucky to last 5 days).
I suspect will need to find the optional power cable to support continuous power.
I've got a few of these set up around the house and the battery life varies but pretty good for a ~4 ish hour charge time.
My driveway camera is generally around 2 months, but we live in a relatively quiet 'court', and have the zones set to ignore the street traffic. Also have the video quality cranked to high since we want to be able to see anyone walking up to the house.
The backyard camera is 4 months…but that generally just catches us doing gardening, or the random stray cat which walks through at night.
