Description
Voice enabledsoundbar leveraging all of the benefits of our ECO2 platform - now with Dolby Atmos, Bose TrueSpace decoding and upward firing transducers.

Features & details
•Full immersion for all entertainment — Smart Soundbar 600 is a Dolby Atmos soundbar that also features proprietary TrueSpace technology and two upward firing transducers to deliver shockingly immersive sound for all your movies, TV shows, and music.
•TrueSpace elevates it all — No matter what you’re watching, Bose TrueSpace technology intelligently analyzes signals other than Dolby Atmos, like stereo or 5.1, and upmixes them to create an immersive multi-channel sound experience.
•Packed with technology — The acoustic architecture squeezes 5 speakers (including 2 upward firing) into a small, 27.5” wide soundbar to spread sound across the room: horizontally left and right, forward, and overhead.
•Wireless soundbar for streaming — Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, and Chromecast built-in compatibility let you stream content anyway you want.
•Total control — Amazon Alexa voice control is built in. Or you can access Works With Google Assistant capabilities with a compatible Google device. There’s also the included remote control and the Bose Music app for quick access to your music.
•Voice control soundbar — Exclusive Voice4Video technology expands your Alexa voice capabilities like only a Bose soundbar can. In addition to your Bose smart soundbar, you can control your TV and cable/satellite box with just your voice.
One app for setup and more — HDMI eARC/ARC and optical audio cables are included. Connect one to your TV and the app walks you through setup. The app also lets you manage voice control, Bose Wi-fi enabled products, update software, and more.

  • +2

is it good ? why Bose wanna get rid of this product?

  • They price matched gerry

  • +7

I have the big brother of this unit and am generally unimpressed. You really do need to get the bass module as well for it to sound anywhere decent but even so some of the other brands (Sony, LG etc) have better sound quality and functions. The Bose app and remote that controls this gear are both unreliable and clumsy

    • +1

For a difference of opinion I also have the big brother of this unit and have always been impressed with the bass. I don’t think it really needs the bass unit.

  • Can I plug my own sub into the rear bass output or is it proprietary Bose?

    • +1

      No

  • +5

I had it last year from Black Friday. In 2 days, i had to return it as it didn’t give that good bose sound. It must come with the bass or it will sound funny. Received the credit store and spent it on JBL on-the-go. Best decision! They are 2 different things but the JBL is a blast.

    • wow 2 person who had the same experience thanks i will pass

      • +5

Some people buy this to provide a substantial improvement over their TV speakers.

Some people buy this thinking it will provide a room-filling floor-rumbling 5.1 surround sound experience.

        Thus the mixed reviews.

        • In fairness, it claims it supports atmos, which means it should at least provide a decent surround experience

          • +1

@Jackson: Which it does. The imaging and bass from a tiny soundbar is impressive.

But some may forget it is a tiny soundbar.

            • @DingoBlue: I have the old VT60 Panasonic which might be one of the last TVs that has a built in sub and half decent speakers. it's biggest issues being that if you crank the bass then from about half volume you get the driver overloaded and it can sound a bit funny (poppy?), but I'm not in a huge room so it's not a massive difference. Aside from that it's not surround, but I'll probably hang out until I can get a proper surround system going.

I would consider it though if the imaging is that good, I just can't see it coming from a single location, maybe I just haven't heard a decent soundbar before?

Bose stands for buy other sound equipment

    • I have jbl 5.0, and it is great in my view.
When buying the jbl 5.0, i tested the bose 600 also in store. Seems they are very similar. At that time the bose 600 was more expensive, so i chose jbl

  • Good deal! I've got the 700 and no sub, plus some of the home speakers and they all work well on wifi

  • +3

I have the 700 and the software is garbage. It had a lot of HDMI sync issues with my Samsung TV but at least works okay with my LG OLED.

As others have said the bass isn’t great at least on the 700

  • Thanks - bought one

  • +4

Really great price, and so tempting. It might suit ppl who want a decent setup for a second tv in the bedroom, in a smaller space etc. For me, still holding out on a Sammysung Q930 or Q990 as I think for the money (as they already come with sub and Atmos surrounds) they can't be beat. Feel like if I purchased this…I would need at least the Bass module 500, if not the 700, and then you have spent more than the very very well respected Samsung setups and STILL don't have Atmos surrounds. What a great price this is though! Still a bargain if its what you are looking for.

  • can i use this for PC?

    • Yes

  • Does anyone know if this would be alright for a 4.4 x 4.6 lounge room? Thanks in advance!

    • +1

I have similar sized room and it works up great

      • Thanks ! Got one :)

  • Sold out on Amazon

    • Yes, I have updated title. It's the same price at Harvey Norman. If people don't want to spend their money at Hardly Normal they can price match at JB HI-FI.

      • It’s not sold out yet.

don’t buy from this mob ..never forget

  • Where to get discounted JB Hifi giftcard the easiest?

    • If they’re losing money on it (not sure if they are, probably not!) then I would encourage buying from Gerry.

  • -1

I dont need one why I bought 2 of these

    • to make them stereo ?

      • -2

This thing does not work in stereo mode. First time ever hearing someone will need 2 of these for stereo. This one is Stereo already, just all speakers inside are quite close to each other.

      • Nah just for my room and wifes room

No highs no lows must be Bose

I got this to replace my 5 y/o Yamaha ATS-1080B.

  • OOS

    • +1

OOS at Amazon AU. Still available at Harvey Norman. Title it's updated.

  • +2

I dropped by Harvey Norman to have a listen. Initially I was very impressed until I realised that they have paired the sub with it. When I switched off the sub, the sound stage is lacking depth that the sub brings. You can't really un-hear it once you have heard it with the sub. I totally agree with others who have mentioned that this unit has to be paired with the sub.

Honestly, it just hits a fair price at $385 and should really be retailing at $799 with the sub. For $799 for just the soundbar, I say get the Samsung Q930B/C when on sale with no hesitation. Just my 5cents worth.

    • +1

In-store demos suck because a lot of these soundbars need their companion app.

You need the Bose Music app ( Android & iOS ) to change the settings for the Bose speakers.

      I’m currently using:

      30 Centre
      100 Height
      40 Bass
      50 Treble.

It’s very flat if you leave it on the default settings.

      • +1

Ha, this must be on one of the rare occasions the app actually works :)

    • Agree I also went to check it in store and was not impressed. Even at $385 there are better options

  • would the sound system on a decent TV i.e LG C1 55" OLED TV be comparable to this sound bar? or would the sound bar make a lot of difference with complementing the TV?

  • +1

Was really tempted, but has no dts:x support.

  • reckon customs would give me grief for claiming trs on this? and bringing it back? $900 allowance per person right?

    • +1

You'd cart around a sound bar in your luggage overseas in the attempt to save ~$35.
i doubt it would even fit in a standard suitcase in the box

      • he will carry it on shoulder just like the breakdancer boy..

  • Thanks OP .. got one also Bass Module 500 to 820$ in JB

    • Wow and i thought we are under recession
      Congrats

    • Bose bass 500 is $545 according to JB Hifi….?

  • Glad I went in store to check before buying. This thing is tiny would not be suitable for the average living room

    • Tiny in sound?

      • Size and sound both. listening to it was not much different to a portable bt speaker line a JBL Charge. Would be good for something like a bedroom soundbar.

        • Totally agree, as I also mentioned a few days back after testing it out, much better off with the Samsung Q930 for the money if your going to add a sub to it for living room usage.

It might be fine as bedroom speakers but still lacking bass by itself in my opinion.

  • Had TGG price match HN at $385. Then bought gift card on Prezzee, so total cost at $360. Paid in store with gc and went to pick it up, looked like an opened unit as the seal was resealed, so asked for another one, but looked like it was the last unit in store and they weren't getting anymore in, so they offered a refund or knock off another $89. Took the discount so ended up paying $271. Looks brand new, just seal broken on the outer box.

Is this going to improve anything if I have an ok tv, say a Sony x90j ?

  • Back in stock at Amazon but 1-2 months dispatch.

  • anyone knows if my sony remote can change the volume up or down on bose 600?if yes that's good,i.dont need 2 remotes when watching tv.

at least my samsung Q60 does, sony remote can adjust volume for q60

    • If you're using ARC the yes.
I haven't had to touch the Bose remote since initial setup.
Auto on/off based on tv..just a couple of time I've had to flip audio sources in the tv to make the soundbar audio kick in

      • yes,i plug into my sony tv hdmi3 which is ARC Support, but sony remote cant not do anything to bose 600

which brand of tv r u using?

        • I have a 65" sony (from a few years ago)

Have 'Audio Sync' (or whatever the button is called) on tv set to use audio system for its sound

          • @SBOB: yes i did the same thing

choosing audio system as its sound and successed.but if i want to adjust the volume ,i have to using bose remote ,sony remote can't do anything to bose 600

            • @41202: Strange
No idea why as arc should adjust volume reference to the connected audio device also
Definitely works on mine..Bose remote is still in its plastic wrapping

              • @SBOB: On the topic, i have samsung tv with yamaha soundbar. Yes arc works i can control sound with samsung remote. But then i also have chromecast with google tv. When using it, the chromecast remote cannot change volume (i need to use tv remote) why is that?
Also whats the difference between hdmi earc and hdmi cec?
