      It would have had +16 votes except I mistakenly clicked on neg (using my phone) so I had to revoke and then couldn't +vote.

      I reckon there should be timer before it prevents a re-vote go allow for these mistakes.

    cant believe also that this has so many votes. Yes, its a great price, but whats the point is you only have enough for 10 mins? Just cheap advertising again by Kogan (cant blame them i guess)

    Perhaps if you got one you can make a 5 minute website filled with Google Ads, then sell your phone as 'limited stock' for $499 on your website - post it on OzBargain and Facebook and have a bazillion people go to your website. Have it sell out after the first purchase. Profit from ads. Not all that dissimilar to Kogans approach.

        I know someone who did this with his iphone 4. He dropped it into the river, completely destroying it. He then claimed it was stolen, got a police report and Apple gave him a brand new 4S, which he then sold for a massive profit and got a GS3. He went from a $0 brick, to a brand new 4S which he sold for over $500. Now that's how you turn lemons into lemonade.

          If you could, keep us informed in regards to getting the dead pixel unit replaced. I'm tempted to buy a S3 from Kogan in a few months time, however, I've heard quiet a fair few units have dead pixels :/

      EDIT: I cut it up myself and turned my old one into a micro sim :D but if you do it make sure you have the 2 chip centre's aligned

    my friend just received his, using his voda sim from his current iphone, he is unable to connect to the internet on the s3, but he is able to make calls?
    i tried with my telstra sim and the internet works. but not his voda sim.

    anyone know how to fix this?

      He needs to set up APN for Vodafone. It should fall under Mobile Network in Settings. Ausdroid has a list of APNs for Australian networks:

        i found "Vodafone live!" apn already on the list.
        but it did not correspond to the info on the that website you gave.
        once i tried to change it and save the changes. the whole APN would disappear/get deleted from the list of APNs.

        if i tried to add a brand new one and save it. it wont save too. it would disappear after i saved it.

          PROBLEM SOLVED.

          realized he used to be on 3 , before they merged.

          hence used the sim card have a MNC for 3, each time u change the MNC the APN will disappear.

      Mine was XX, which is UK/Western Europe. It booted in English(UK) and the box was English. But the adapter was Euro not UK.

      Have you checked for dead pixels yet!

    It's been 1.5 business days since I submitted my request for replacement and since then I've received 3 spam emails that I never signed up to, and nothing received about my doa phone.

    Finally heard back from Kogan, thats basically 2 business days for a response (and they've managed to send me no less than 5 unsolicited spam emails since I've been waiting). Not impressed.

    Even less impressive is that now they want me to take a photo of it!

          Warning. Mine was sealed, but upon closer inspection I can see labels underneath the ones I had to cut. I'm not sure if I ct both labels, but it seems odd that there a two labels doubled up. And mine has a dead pixel, so it raises questions.

    I got sick of waiting for Kogan to respond to emails, so I called. Am posting it back FOC and they will confirm the dead pixel they've seen in the photos, and will post out a replacement. Hopefully it won't take forever.

    The moral of this story is, don't use kogans proffered support channel, call them instead. I was on hold for about 15minutes, but it's better than waiting for over a week.

    Shame I missed on the deal, can anyone confirm the s3 from Kogan is compatible with Vodaphone sim card? I am on $29 plan and still have 7 months to go, so the immedicate plan is to buy an uncloced phone from Kogan and stay with V for few months(cant wait to move to tpg or live connected when it ends.). I think it should be ok but got confused when I see some retailer labeled with "Optus unlocked etc"…

    Another question is do you guys buy the extra warranty?
