Buffet 88 Ashfield RSL - Are All Buffets Like This?

Buffet 88 seemed like a great idea to me. Well reviewed, not expensive and good location.

The first eyebrow was raised at the security checkpoint with the line nazi yelling at everyone and going for the final kill of "…if you don't like it, go somewhere else." Then to watch the hysteria of people who had to wait outside as they had no table.

Luckily, I had a table and was able to watch people go to that seafood bar so hard bain Marie never stood a chance.

Can I just take the whole tray of crab? Why not. What about the pippies and XO sauce, do you think i can fit the whole tray on one plate? I will try!

The staff were really great and obviously used to this and credit to the kitchen staff and crab fishermen who were working overtime last night.

        Do you mean Melba? I have been twice and it's excellent, especially the deserts. Some of the things are individually cooked and it's not an issue for sushi and sashimi. Great views too.

    Buffets tend to attract the dirtiest/scummiest diners in my experience.

    Many years ago i was the chef in sort of control of the buffet at the pavillon hotel in canberra.

    You would not believe the shit i was ordered to make into good looking buffet stuff.

    I dont trust buffets. They are leftover fests

        The demographics there are those that grab all they can when they can, watch them at CostCo Auburn when free food samples come out, it's ridiculous and so rude. No respect for personal space, and it's bloody free!!!

    the only decent buffet style 'all you can eat' is where they dish it up for you. Once people can serve themselves they seem to lose all restraint and civilization.
    There's nothing wrong with wanting more to eat, but people seem to act like they are the third monkey waiting for the Ark and it's starting to rain.

    You should see the videos of people in China going at it at seafood buffets. Really amazes you how many prawns live in our oceans (or lived anyway).

    I had the misfortune of attending a birthday at the Village Green a while back. $38 a head, the place was packed with queues of feral people and most of the food was the sort of stuff reheated from the bulk buys frozen food section.

    All you can eat Buffets in regional towns don't have the same issue. You can guess why.
