Doesn’t have a usbc port though

    • Doesn’t have a usbc port though

      That's fine by me.
4 of those Type A ports are 10gbit/s so it doesn't make a difference to anything in my setup.

    • Thank you. I bought both 7600 and the board using 22%. Amazing deal for me.

      Upgraded from ROG CROSSHAIR VI HERO (x370) + AMD Ryzen 1700x -> x370 + 3700x -> Now 7600 and B650.

The expensive boards are overrated in my opinion.

  • Lol ps2 port in 2023

    • +3

Apparently you’re not enough of a elite gamer to appreciate the ps2 port according to https://pcguide101.com/motherboard/5-reasons-why-do-motherbo… 😂

      • I've watched a million gaming mice related videos, I don't think I've ever seen one about about a ps2 mouse. Even wireless mice have excellent response times, with stuff like 4/8k polling rates being placebo since it's already at the bleeding edge.

The key rollover is also useless since it's not a thing on mechanical keyboards which most gamers use.

Even tech channels never use ps2 port for troubleshooting bios, usb just works, worse case you grab another mice.

        • No idea, I just googled why you would even want one. Having said that, some of the $300+ keyboards come with a p/s2 adapter.

  • Had the full size version of this board with a 7700x, worked flawlessly

  • This board looks like it would fit an NR200P case. Does anyone know?

    • +1

Isn't the NRE200P for mini-TX boards? This one is micro-ATX.

    • Only itx boards fit in the nr200 cases this won't fit.

Man I want more AM5 boards with USB4

  • Centrecom has the elite for $276 delivered. I don't know the difference, but grabbed the elite. https://www.centrecom.com.au/gigabyte-b650m-aorus-elite-ax-a…

  • This or the Aorus Elite AX B650M for 30 bucks more?

  • 4 USB 2.0 ports, like why?

    • Dunno, but hasn’t really been a problem yet either. Maybe I just don’t have a lot of peripherals.

      • +1

USB 3.0 works with anything 2.0 therefore I never understood why motherboard still have lots of 2.0 unless you pay $500 or more for 3.1 and 3.2.

        • +1

I am not 100% sure but I believe USB 3 uses pcie lanes which might be a factor for some people also USB3 needs external drivers on some mostly (older) operating systems, but the real reason is that it's probably just cheaper to use USB2 ports.

          • @Astrom: I think you're right. I think I've just found what I have been looking for, MSI MAG B650M Mortar WiFi AM5 Micro-ATX Motherboard. No PCIE 5 but is DDR5 and PCIE 4 is fast enough.

          • @Astrom: Like, I get it, but at least 2 of those ports are just for keyboard and mouse anyway… and the rest I dunno.

  • Ugh It's 2023 why do motherboards still have such horrible PCIe slot layouts! At bare minimum there should be a top slot above the x16 slot, and preferably here should be 2 x16 slots in positions 1 and 4.

Any GPU over dual slot width will take up every single PCIe slot on this thing, and if it's that size or smaller most add-in cards would cover a good chunk of fan area, heating up the GPU.

Annoying for people who want to use add-in cards like NICs, storage expansion cards or RAID controllers, etc.

I know it's nitpicking but it's annoying seeing investment go into 3 PCIe slots when in 95% of use cases only one is usable.

    • Bottom line is cost, as much as it pains me to say that a 250 dollar board is considered 'budget' now.

  • Don't forget to check how to disable the backdoor.

I believe it's been patched but firmware package didn't come with detailed patch notes.

      • Apparently there was also a toggle in the firm ware but it defaulted to on.

However you fix it, it's worth doing.
