  • Depends what furniture you're after. A good option would to go a one-stop-shop like Moore Park Supacentre with many furniture stores across many product lines and budgets.

    • Yes we have similar super/homemaker centres like that, but then how would you rank them from best to worse in there

Let’s say I’m looking for bedroom furniture such as bedding/bed frame base right now

You don't need someone to rank stores for you.

You walk around and have a look at what's on offer, what designs you like, what options/variations available, what colours, what pricing, what's in stock vs order etc and decide what's right for you personally. Or none and try somewhere else.

You might find the ideal bedroom suite but nothing for living room. You might spend 6 hours there and just go home with just a table lamp that caught your eye. You might smash out entire house furniture in one trip and you're done. One way to find out.

        • What he said. Furniture is very subjective to taste. Go and look at some. Try them out. Price is a rough guide as to quality.

Depends how deep your pockets are

  • Essentially a one-stop shop STORE with more designs/variety than IKEA and still price value…?

    • There is no single answer unless you have no interest in style or design and are happy to purchase purely on price. in that case ikea or fantastic furniture. Otherwise you’ll need to go inspect and decide what prices you like for style or comfort.

      I prefer myter

    • They have some interesting designs for sure. Bit pricey but unique.

  • I like King Living's furniture range but hate everything else about their company - waiting times, aftersales service, 'sales', etc.

Amart, Kmart, Bunnings, Big W, Target, A*di, IKEA,

Basically whoever's got for cheapest and can do most of the desired job.

heck would even go as far as 2nd hand on marketplace if really dont want to pay full price for a new one, (you may even get some for free)

  • Harvey Norman has some nice stuff. Not cheap though.

Ikea has both cheaply made stuff and solid quality stuff. You get an expensive piece of furniture from ikea and its generally very good quality.

    • I need next best alternatives cos their style/designs on offer are quite limited, even up to expensive

I got my bedroom furniture at Amart (they have both the cheap and nasty lines and the good solid stuff), and got the bedframe online- it's near identical to the Amart one that matches the furniture (only the drawer handles are different), but half the price and with thicker slats.

My office desk and a vintage cabinet I use for the printer are from the opshop and I re-stained them to match each other. Lounge furniture is next to replace (mostly for aesthetic reasons) and I have found a set I like at Fantastic (not flatpack, built solid).

I tend to get my furniture from where-ever I find what I like and can afford- no need for the entire house to match, as long as each room is generally cohesive (I am slowly working on this, getting rid of old student house furniture). If you did want the entire house in one go, Amart would be my first thought- partly because the nearest Ikea is over an hour drive from me, and I am not a fan of the skandi/ mid-century look- mush prefer the more heritage/federation look that goes with the house. I'm in one of those late 90s/early 2000 colonial revival places.

That being said I wouldn't go for Bunnings marketplace again, I got an extender dining table that doesn't line up properly in extended mode.

There is no such thing as 'The best Service provider, Product Supplier or Product' for everyone.

Everyone has different lives, needs, wants, budget and preferences.

I think most people will have either good or bad feelings about a store where as the next person may of had a good experience.

There are alternatives to almost everything but not a 'best of' to everything.
