Gold Coast 1 Week with Family. Advice on Best Value Theme Park Tickets and Which Ones to Visit

Hi All,

I am visiting with family (wife and kids 11 and 7) to gold coast in last week of June. Accommodation is sorted. First time to GC so we have absolutely no experience of what to expect but an expectation to goto theme parks. The best deal that seem to be avalable is https://www.experienceoz.com.au/en/gold-coast/theme-park-7-d… but it only offers 4 theme parks. Can I request the forum to suggest what theme parks ideally should we target and is there a better deal available ?

Thanks

I'd argue that a 7-day pass is the best deal you'll get. You won't get one for all the theme parks as they are all different and have different owners etc. Kids should have a good time at both Sea World and Movie World. If the weather is good, go to Wet 'n' Wild as well, as it's included in your ticket pack.

That 7 day pass you've linked is pretty good bang for your buck imo~ In reality you probably won't use it for all 7 days, but it does give you peace of mind and flexibility.
Be wary of which day of the week you go. Weekends are busier, more people etc, but more rides & events are open. Weekdays are quieter, shorter lines (if any at all), but some events may not be on, and rides could be closed. As you've picked QLD's school holidays (which aligns with VIC's, which is why I assume you're travelling end of June), this might not be an issue and everything could be open all week.

Movie World and Sea World can be good for a full day~ They've timed their events so its spread out over the course of the day with some time in-between. The Village Theme Park app should tell you everything and provide you a map.

Dreamworld is a separate ticket (different owner), and is arguably more 'kiddie', but if your kids are into Shrek and / or Tigers…enjoy?

We took 2 days to do Movie World, so maybe factor in something like that, that you may want to go back to one of them

    • Did you spend a day waiting in lines?

      • Don't think so, tho this was 12yrs ago and no kids 😛

  • Tickets are slightly cheaper via nrma/racv etc not by much though. We went by Easter and paid $805 for a family of 5.
