Where Can My Partner and I Get a Cheap (Under $10) Takeaway Feed in Melbourne Right Now?

We are looking for a cheap takeaway feed. We saw the Oporto offer and that looks good, but it's a little bit out of the way.

Any promos or offers on that you are aware of? Please no McDonalds/KFC/Hungry Jacks/Red Rooster. TIA!

    • Could go for a snag but unfortunately that ship has sailed (at least for today)

      • It was my understanding though that the lowest prices were just the beginning

    Costco food court.

    • Would have to renew my membership so that would make it a very expensive takeaway dinner

        walk in?

Pretty sure you can access the food court without a membership card… just walk in through the exit.

      • Think long term. You pay for one membership for 365 days of cheap takeaways. If you save $1 each visit, you breakeven very quickly.

I like the way you think

I think this might be one of the best deals going around:

I have eaten here and can vouch for the wholesomeness and the good taste of the food.

This looks great. Will definitely check it out next time I'm around the CBD. Cheers!

  • Cheap is very subjective

    • Under $10 per person ideally

      • 7-11 for a pie each

      • Do those so-called '$10 dinners' still exist?

melbourne is a big place - location?

  • Wait 12 hours and go to the Vic Markets

  • Woolies roast chicken split between you and two woolies cream pastries.

  • Go to Victoria Street and one of the many great and cheap Vietnamese restaurants. Won't be $10pp but can be as low as around 15.

  • Since Oporto is out of the way and location is a factor…. maybe try narrowing down to your suburb or at least area of Melbourne? I don't know where to start.

  • Hare Krisna.? Brush up on your tambourine skills.??
Seriously, follow ya nose and the crowds dude.
The world has limited O2 & chaff like this eats into what little remains

  • N. Lee Banh Mi in Smith St Collingwood is under $10 and very good.
Otherwise go for a wander down to Victoria St in Richmond. There are a number of Asian places to select from.

OP: "what's a good place to get food in Melbourne but not Oporto because that's too far from my house and I'm not telling where my house is in this 100km wide city but just understand how disappointed I'll be if you suggest something more than 3km from my house"

  • Pizza if you don’t want Costco. Can get it cheap with some 30% codes.
