Bravat Brand Any Good?

Hi

Looking to reno the bathroom and went into the local Harvey Norman to look at toilets, showers etc and the sales person persuaded us to look at the Bravat smart toilet, shower and taps. They all look good and come with five years plus warranties.

I did some research afterwards and can’t find a lot on the internet regarding this company even though they have been around for over 100 years.

Anyone got any experience with this brand?

Thanks

First mistake: Going to Harvey Norman.
Second mistake: Going to Harvey Norman looking for Toilets and Showers.
Third mistake: Going to Harvey Norman and believing the salesperson BS.

      I reckon.
Go to Reese, Tradelink or Kens, even Bunnings would have better advice than Harvey Norman

You'll be wanting a rimless suite so suggest you review the different ways they flush - I'm going for tornado flush, Zumi or Toto.

    • Thanks. Did look at the Toto toilets but they do look dated unless you pay for the top end ones. Zumi doesn’t get great reviews on the productreview site.

      • My local Toto stockist has a plumbed-in Zumi in their staff/visitor washroom, it has a better looking flush than a Toto. I think the tornado models are newer.

  • If it’s from Hardly normal (or other big chain store) and you can’t find much about it online it is definitely ‘home brand’. So lower price, lower quality and likely to disappear from shelves when the store changes contract meaning the warranty is useless.

    • It is sold elsewhere online which is good. Just not a lot of reviews.

    • not sure where you get your information from but a Store changing Contracts doesn't affect. Warranty l believe ACL guild lines explain since it's not a store warranty it's a manufacturer warranty.

Had a quick look at the website and already found a couple of grammar and spelling mistakes. If it is such a big brand with European heritage I'm sure they would have had a decent online budget. Doesn't feel right to me.

Well, this explains everything and sold on Alibaba too. LOL

Another case similar to Telefunken and Grundig.

If your plan is to sell the house in the next 3 years then just go for it because some sucker would most certainly fall for the shiny gizmo toilet with flashing LEDs. But if you are going to live there for the next 20 years then put a nice looking but manual control Toto, Zumi, Caroma, etc which you know would last the life of the house and install a smart toilet seat if you want one and when it breaks your toilet would still work and unlike with the Bravat you don't have to pull the whole toilet out to replace, something that could end up being quite expensive if the plumbing outlets do not align.

    • Bravat still has a Manual Flush

    • You mentioned Caroma do you even know what your talking about sure go Caroma if you don't mind taking the seat off and unscrewing hoses to change the water filter every six months, if not then you can spend a couple of hundred to get a plumber out, if you want good advice talk to people that know what they are talking about,
first of all you need to find the right toilet for what you are doing is it a refit or a new house your WELS rating will come in to play depending on which one it is,
next this is the type of toilet wall faced, back to wall, wall hung, tankless.
if it is a refit your setout is a big thing some toilets may not work,
next would-be features are you looking for automatic open warm water rinse, heated seat, blow dry or not, temp controls, remote control or buttons,
once you have worked that out then you need to look things like water filter replacements the things no one ever talks about but catches you off guard,
then one of the most important after all that is warranty. is it in home Inc. parts and labour how long the seat warranty is. once you find the best no matter what brand that suits you and your happy with who cares what other people think.
also a good point to warranties is Caroma tapware only have 1 year parts and labour which means if you tap stops working or your wall mixers start leaking then they will send you a knew one, bravat has 15 years in home warranty which means they pay for plumbers the lot, to me that makes a big difference,

  • Not sure what OP wants. Asks for feedback on a certain brand, receives overwhelmingly negative feedback, then defends said brand…

    • Definitely after the feedback. Was hoping the brand was ok and I don’t need to go back and start from square one again. But if that’s what’s needed then fair enough
