  • Prices do not include membership fees or delivery etc.

Disclaimer: I work for AWS - a subsidiary of Amazon - but I do not have anything to do with the retail business Amazon.

(I was going to put links for each one but that required too much effort, might come back and do it at a later time and potentially look at other vendors
Note there is also the the 256 GB version, but sorry this was too time consuming to add.

I ended up getting the S8 Ultra over 24 months with what points i had - 61 dollars a month)

The new line of Samsung Galaxy Tab should be announced soon too.

Current Rumours: Tab S9 will have the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Processor and will all come with OLED Screen (unlike the Tab S8).

    • Yep should definitely wait for the gen2 chip for the sweet battery life gain.

    • I currently have the S7+ and find it too big, will get the S9 if it indeed have the oled screen.

Agreed. I prefer the size of the Tab S8 but wanted a OLED screen.

    • Two massive upgrades, the tab s8 is quite underpowered and it shows even with general usage and OLED needs no explanations haha.

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, did you not see the last line I just posted there!
"(I ended up getting the S8 Ultra over 24 months with what points i had - 61 dollars a month)"

with that said, the new version won't be this low for a while at least. (and hopefully I've picked the bottom of this model with the 500 bux off)

Might, be a good idea to to pay for the upgrade protection though!

I'd also assume from announced to released should be 6 months to a year (then to actually being available may even be a few months?) based on what I've seen in the past.
with that said, i'm sure the generation i'm getting will be more than enough for plex, netflix and web surfing…that OLED would be nice though!! - and not even netflix when they remove password "sharing"

Samsung are known for discount/bonuses on release; just look at any of their flagship range phone on release.

Maybe it's my wishful thinking of trying to convince myself to wait for the new models

Picked up a Tab S8 128GB 5G from Amazon for $816 last week. I wanted the LCD as I have an app I leave running sometimes, and have burned in OLEDs before. Been good so far, typing on it now. It's the only device I've been able to get a 5G connection in my Melbourne CBD office. I can only get 4G on my iPhone 13 Pro, iPad Pro 11 and X1 Carbon 5G modem.

  • I miss the Sony Xperia tablets for $400

    • Does Sony still make the Xperia tablet….???

  • same price at office works for s8 plus can be price matched at jb-hifi online chat as well https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/samsung-ga…

Tbh I don't reckon you need an associated tag for AWS.
It'd be like someone working at a subsidiary of Woolies like Big W (or better yet a non-retail business) needing one for woolies deals.

    • I agree and i cant even +1 comments now.

A lot of people seem to have hate for the Galaxy Tab S8 but I've had mine for a little over 11 months now and it's been great.

I was able to redeem the book cover keyboard and a set of Galaxy buds for free with mine though which has definitely improved the experience. Having the S-pen is fantastic and the fact that the book cover secures it to the tablet is perfect. I know people don't like that it has an LCD instead of OLED but when I got it the S8+ and S8 Ultra OLED panels would only switch between 60Hz and 120Hz while the LCD panel was adaptive between 10-120Hz (not sure if this has changed via software updates or not). Despite this, I'd say battery life is one of the few areas that it is lacklustre compared to iPads, both idle and active but having said that I can easily get more than a day out of the tablet before it needs charging to that's a non-issue for me.

Multi-window mode is awesome, being able to have up to 3 apps open on the display at the same time and being able to choose how much of the display each takes up is perfect for multitasking. Can have Chrome open taking up 50%, Discord taking up 25% and Twitch or YouTube taking up 25% all at the same time and can save that setup as a pre-set icon on the edge panel to launch with one press. Features like Dex I played with a little but isn't something I utilise but being able to use it as a wireless secondary monitor for a Windows PC is awesome.

I also own an older iPad (6th gen) but the only time I use it nowadays is when I specifically want to use Procreate otherwise I always reach for the S8. It's not a perfect device by any means but for $800 I think it's a really good purchase for someone looking for a tablet and doesn't want to dip their feet into the iOS ecosystem. Also while the S9 is due to be announced, I doubt it's going to be $800.

  • FWIW just got an email from Costco that the S8 128GB Wifi is $799 delivered.

    • Thanks, added costco and officework and a few others.
