Yes, this is the normal price, but still a bargain for the quality of the paper and print. The text is short and sweet, literally, ideal for… first readers. Amazon says the RRP for these is $7.99, but they've always sold it for this same price. Regardless, still a bargain.
First Readers Books $1.75 + $3.90 Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store/ $100 Order) @ BIG W

So are these.
In fact, so are all long-term deals.2 wrongs don't make a right…
Normal price can still be a bargain.
This is OzBargain not OzSaving.

If you're not saving money, it's not a bargain…
By that definition it would be better to shut down the website and buy nothing at all.
@DingoBlue: Why, lots of real bargains get posted every day.
@jv: Bc buying nothing at all is what produces the most saving (needless to say).
@wisdomtooth: Buying nothing is not saving as you get nothing…
@jv: Not spending is literally the definition of saving!
I see English is not your mother tongue. No worries, just semantics.
You're also mistaking discount for bargain. Plenty of "discounted" items that are far from being bargains, and plenty of undiscounted ones that aren't. A bargain is simply value for money. The "normal" price is often irrelevant (what would you say the "normal" price is at Chemistry Warehouse, or of those items at Colesworths that are "half price" every other week?).
Not spending is literally the definition of saving!
Spending less than you normally would in a transaction for something you want is my definition of saving.
A bargain is simply value for money.
Not when you can buy that item at any time for the same price. Then it is not a bargain.
You are confusing 'value' with 'bargain'@jv: Yet long-term deals are.
These use to be $1
That would've been a fantastic deal! But I haven't found it posted here.
Because it is the everyday price sir. Like those Disney books that are always $5 in big w that also has a half price markdown. They were never sold for $10

Yep, those are a great deal too! I got my son nearly the whole collection!! The print, paper and binding are top notch!
But I haven't found it posted here.
Because it was the normal price.
Thanks OP I ordered a couple but from Amazon who price matched and free delivery with prime..
Great post. I never would've known about these otherwise.
I've bought a bunch of these over the years… great for reading to young children who love the straightforward stories and the pictures. I haven't ever gotten my kids to do the bits they're meant to read but I do appreciate at least they like looking at books.
My 5-y/o son looooves the exercises at the end! Last night he made me go with him through all the exercises in a dozen or so books that we have 😅
Can get a few here or there, but looks as if bigw has 16 in stock, so for the price its a good set of books to buy.
yeah thats what i was thinking to do too, get all 16 at big w, shame there wasn't the 1 collection at amazon so you can just buy 1 purchase and have free prime delivery lol
Thanks op.
Thanks OP
I found a cheaper one at https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/things-to-see-and-do/council…
Don't remember the location thoughCost to go to the library? Plus side cost like lunch for 2 people. Unless can borrow a digital copy.
Digital copy for bedtime reading? To kids??
You ordered over 50 of them so you didn't need to go the K-Mart?
You do know you oughta giv'em back though, right?
We do use the library a lot too — especially the mobile one! — but it's not like kids don't want the same story told to them over and over again… Helps them with learning sight words too. And, after you're done with them, you can just donate them to the school or a street library (btw, the latter is by far the best deal).
I can't tell if you're taking me seriously or not
Should I? You're comparing buying with borrowing; apples and bandanas.
man.. these are a GREAT deal!
Bought a whole bunch of them a while back… worth every cent! This forum is the pits sometimes.
