Unless it's certified by Apple with "Made for MagSafe", then max wireless charging is always 7.5W (half the speed).
interesting. it's still quite convenient having the phone at least supplied with enough juice to stop it draining the battery. Also if you want faster charging but don't want to fork out for 'made for magsafe', you can always hang a short length of a lightning cable off the wireless charger (plugged into a different pd output) for those times you need to charge quickly. not quite as elegant but oh well
No worries. Yeah not very fast, but caution if looking for magsafe car chargers that claim to be faster- I've owned others and the iphone 14 pro only seems to accept 7.5w max, even when cool and needing a lot of charge (and plugged into a high-power pd output). also will throttle the charging speed to just what it is using (AC / no charge) as soon as it heats up at all. heat caused by the screen usually (say, google maps) as well as the magsafe charging. having the vent blowing cold air does help but not heaps.
7.5w is so slow and the phone overheats while you use google navi, yet still wouldn't compensate the power draw. Also while it overheats, everything is frozen including google map, I couldn't use it while I was driving, it will make you miss your next exit, but the whole point of using a dash charger is?
Use mine every day and never had any of the issues you speak of. Maybe it’s time for a new phone.
This is funny cause it's true if you have an older phone
Works if you have a magnetic case? Feel bad for anyone who paid $80 for this since it doesn’t even come with a car lighter charger to power this thing
damn. missed out.
Thanks for posting, It's 7.5 w charging.
