These are as nice looking as Bodum pavinas

    • Reckon they might just be licensed and produced by Bodum with how similar they are. Do they have the same silicon vent on the bottom? Was pretty sure it was patented which could be a hint

      • No they don't. The glass is thicker. I have both

      • +2

I ha e both. The bodum last longer, they still look new these o es though start to get marks on the glass from the dishwasher .

        • I find the Bodum ones get water in through the silicone seals and makes the glasses cloudy.

          • @0 0 0: I hand wash all my double walled cups, glass and plastic.

          • +1

@0 0 0: Weve never had that happen. They always go in the diahwasher if that makes a difference.

            • +1

@PVA: Same. Had a couple of sets for years, they're my daily coffee cups and always go in the dishwasher. All still look like new.

            • @PVA: Same, never hand washed them as they seem very easy to drop when hand washing. Machine works great for them

          • @0 0 0: Same here. The silicone seal washes away and water leaks in. You can try heating in the oven and hot glue over the seal. I've tried the oven at 90 degrees for a few hrs - most of the water has gone. I'll try a little hotter and longer.

  • Bought, thanks.

Go great with a $6k La Marzocco

    • I bought two sets, one for the la mazocco in my Toorak house and the other for my beach house in Sorrento.

  • Not sure what these types of glasses are meant to feel like but I have a pair of the espresso ones so maybe 80ml? They feel light/cheap. Maybe that’s just how they’re meant to feel?

  • If I was making a double-shot flat white, what's the recommended glass size?

    • +1

The 250ml is a standard coffee cup size for a flat white in a cafe

How do these compare with those double walled glasses being sold at two for $5 at Kmart?

    • Kmart only has them for $10 normally?
But these are slightly larger by 20ml

  • Use these for my coffee. They are awesome. These feel solid and thick

  • I use these at home, 350ml double-shot lattes in morning till lunch.
    In arvo/evening I have single-shot lattes in 250ml

Try stopping caffeine intake in the early afternoon, say 2pm. See how your sleep and restedness changes after a week

      • +1

Stopped coffee outright for 2 yrs. Did NOT help my sleep.

        • Try cbd?

        • You have lattes in the evening? What time do you sleep?

          • @fredblogs: I have a double shot after 7pm every night, bed around 12 and usually fall asleep within 15-20. I know a few people that won't get any sleep if they have a coffee after midday..

          • @fredblogs: just had my last latte about 10pm, bed about 11, usually asleep before 1/2 hr tv timer goes off./

        • Check your liver enzymes. If your numbers are off the normal range, do an ultrasound of the liver.

Been looking for the 80ml espresso ones at a good price for ages.

They have them at $8.97 delivered for a pair - thanks

  • +1

Bought a pair of 250ml last year, one of them shattered during normal wash, the other one survived daily use just fine.

Ordered another pair, so that missus can have the same cup when she also wants a latte.

    • Shattered in the dishwasher? I thought you weren't meant to chuck these types of glasses in there cause they can get fogged up?

      • No, it was hand wash.

  • Anybody dared to test them to check if these are 'microwave safe'?

    • +1

      Stand by…

    • +1

Yes they're fine. I microwave my milk before adding coffee

  • Are there any current deals available to sign up for Amazon Prime? I liked this cup but not gona pay for the delivery.

  • I broke one of these by tapping it lightly in the sink. Then got some Aldi ones, dropped one from shoulder height onto brick paving without a scratch.

    • Wow wasn't expecting an Aldi humble brag in this thread

  • Thanks for sharing! Just broke our last double walled glass. Great timing

  • How about the ones from Ikea? https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/passerad-double-walled-glass-50…
They are smaller, but any comments on durability?

  • A certain Mestige 350ml pair was on Clearance at Coles for $2.99 couple of days back.

  • 350ml OOS.

    Paid $10 at Big W.
    Same price at Kmart.

    • but those aren't Maxwell & Williams at Big W and Kmart ;)

      • -2

So it's just about the branding?

        • +2

pretty much, prob got made at the same china factory lol

  • Got 2 of these double wall set from the coles deal.

2 didnt seal properly so water got inside. 1 is misaligned but usable, only 1 have no issue.
Not the same brand, and coles’ cheaper with the deal at $7.7, but still

These look cheap comparing to the Bodum ones. The glasses wall look uneven. They also dont have the silicon at the bottom to expel expanded hot air. I was disappointed when received them and returned

Set of 8 350ml Bodums are on discount for about $50 https://www.bodum.com/au/en/4559-10-12us-pavina?gad=1&gclid=…

    • Plus shipping as under $60.

      • I bought 2 sets and gave one away as gifts to my parents and brother, 4 glasses each :)

    • Nope they don't look cheap in comparison. In actual fact my Bodum ones look poxy given they now have water trapped inside. This happened with my 450ml Pavina glasses and my small 250ml non Pavina double walled Bodum glasses (can't remember the name). My 250ml had water breach the seals upon first wash before I even used them. Had them replaced under warranty but Bodum didn't make it easy to claim warranty despite the glasses being bought online direct from Bodum.

      • The Maxwell glasses I received clearly have uneven thickness around the top area where it transitions from the inner to outer wall, this can't be good in dealing with expanded hot air between the walls

I've been using Bodums for over 4 years without issues. Can't blame you for disliking Bodum with the experience you have with them. I don't know if your experience is common

  • Unavailable already

  • The rubber in the tiny valve (hole) at the bottom is very easy to wash away and cause water getting in. Once the water get in, it is very hard to fully let the water out the wall. That is the difference among this , Aldi and Bodum.
