      and your review about it?

        Great for carrying towels.

      • +2

It's just typical Towels - have a look at their comment history. Don't expect anything more.

    • Love your work!

  • +1

good one. got it last time with the 20% CR so even cheaper this time.

  • +3

so what is the go? are these extra boujie or something?

    • not hating… as looking for something similar, just wanted to know…

Not many 'affordable' option for a good quality sling bag in Australia.

Other options with a similar size:

        • Aer Day Sling 3 (which is ~AU$179.95)
        • Bellroy Mini Sling (which is ~AU$139)
        • Alpaka Go Sling Mini (which is ~AU$124)

TomToc is pretty decent and more than adequate in my opinion. They are definitely a step up in terms of quality over generic stuff. I have a few of their sleeves, pouches, cases, and laptop sleeves.

They are however not on the same level as Peak Design, Bellroy or some of the other brands mentioned. They have higher build quality, better fabrics, nicer features and generally feel nicer. Remember diminishing returns and all that.

    • +1

Nah, just simple and functional. I have one and love it.

    • +2

I see you have already copped one however, quick review for those interested - good size bag for just being out and about, and I generally pack it into my backpack when I go travelling. Can fit a Memobottle (flat bottle), sunnies, and a battery pack. Can stuff a small towel in there too on hot days. Attach a S-Biner or Carabiner on the side to let you go hands-free with your shopping etc.

If you suspect you'd want to carry an iPad around as well I'd advise a messenger bag, but otherwise it's got space for everything you'd need everyday.

  • Does seem nice but happy with my sling. Great price.

  • +12

Only people with these round my way keep screwdrivers, gloves and masks in them and are out on the rob.

    • +1

so, fit for purpose you'd say ?

    • +2

      Eshaayyyy

  • Friend uses this as their sling, can recommend. Good for EDC - small bottle, glasses, wallet and keys.

  • Is this good to wear on the front? Looks a bit weird on the model in the photos when its to the front. Going to Japan soon and wondering if this is a good pick up for it.

    • +2

The straps are at a 90 degrees angle, so the sling is horizontal when on the front and an cross-body on the back.

If you prefer the reverse, then you can swap shoulders (so cross on the front).

Good EDC bag, got mine from Temu using 30% new user codes

    • +1

Been seeing temu show up a lot recently. Are they the new AliExpress?

      • Temu and shien are just nicer looking, more accessible storefronts that has the same products as AliExpress.

        • -1

Cheers. I've found basically everything on eBay and Amazon is just drop shipping stuff from AliExpress. So I go straight to these sites now for almost everything at a quarter of the price.

          • @Herbse: temu pricing is great when you use it with the 30% new user code
            much smaller range than aliexpress

        • TEMU: mainly HOME products, less selection, but cheaper, quicker delivery (usually sent in one batch) and better Customer support.
I left Aliexpress after bad customer support.

    Not eshay enough

  • I used one for a 2 week Japan holiday. Very handy and high quality. Great price.

  • I'm a big fan of EDC keychains, carry cases, tools etc. Can I ask what other EDC items you have gone with?

Knipex 100mm cobra and pliers wrench
      Milwaukee 6in1 fastback
      Hero clip
      Torches
      Niteize

      • These are products that are on my list that I plan to get/already own.

        • I've been looking at the Hero Clip and Knipex Cobra XS wrench pliers. Already have a Gerber Gear EAB knife but I don't really need to cut stuff these days so that stays at home. May get a different just-in-case kinda knife that sits inside a carabiner or multitool. I have a lot of Nite-Ize stuff. Just bought another thing today.

Don't need to talk about torches. 😉

      • +1

Hero Clips are awesome. I have one on my Aer Day Sling 3 and my Tom Bihn Synik 22. Great for hanging my packs off tables and on the outside of a trolley while shopping.

        • I haven't got a real hero clip yet but have a few copies from temu/aliexp

        • These cost $30-40? A cheap $2-5 carabiner would do the same thing?

          • +3

@x x: The Hero Clip can be put on a surface and hold your pack. See photo below. I particularly find it useful when sitting down at a food court or a restaurant. It keeps my pack off the table but keep its close to me.
            A regular carabiner can’t.

@jallen89: Found this on Reddit. Looks like you can get cheap Chinese versions of the Hero Clip
              https://www.reddit.com/r/onebag/comments/11r79fu/hero_clip_v…

              • @x x: It never takes long for cheap copies to pop up for sale. I prefer to support the business who did the R&D and spent money designing something unique and useful.

            • @jallen89: yeah this is why I got a few.

The original hero clip pricing is a bit high so picked up a few from aliexpress/temu to try it out while look out for some sales on the real one.

              • @impoze: Can you share some links?

              • @impoze: That’s fair enough. I did that with some of my other edc gear like the Peak Design Tech Pouch.

              • @impoze: Do you have a link to the copy hero clips on Ali/Temu. I had a good look but only found caribiners, thanks

Good to see another Tom Bihn owner. I'm a big fan of the TB Aeronaut 45 and onebag travel

          • +1

@x x: I love Tom Bihn! I spent about 2k trying to find my perfect edc backpack. I finally found it in Tom Bihn. Their accessories are also top notch.
I’m really surprised other manufacturers haven’t put O-rings in their packs. I use every O-ring in my Synik 22 haha.

    • Right now still researching/deciding. But the one mentioned by impoze are all on my list hahah.

  • this is good. I got one for travel earlier this year.

Would this be considered okay to use for travelling Europe? Have heard people come past and cut these sling clasps and grab them!

    • Probably dependent on the area. The last time I was in Europe, I used a simple folding backpack for the few times one was needed and didn't have any issues.

If your aim is to avoid people cutting the strap and grabbing the bag, this probably won't help.

    • I got it because the clip is close to the bag and I wear it with the pouch on my chest . So it should be harder for them to un clip it or open your zippers

    • If you can find a thinner/flatter bag you can wear it under your jacket. Bag still accessible if jacket is unzipped and the straps are hidden underneath

    • Any bag is OK, its more about your vigilance. More than anything else just always be alert to your surroundings and never let anything out of your direct frontal sight with lots of people in close proximity (i.e. train, any crowd, cover your pockets when appropriate etc). Never engage in conversation with randoms that approach you also as they can be used to distract you. Also helps to avoid dodgy areas (such as the many dodgy parts of London and Paris) although thats not always practical. Basically, dont be an easy mark.

  • cool looking sling - looks like it was specifically design to fit the switch lol

    • there is another one that comes with the game pouch

  • I find that these hurt after a while. You need to get ones with strap pads or foam.

  • Design looks nice but it feels like a small light weight backpack would be more comfortable to wear and more practical without being any heavier.

  • +1

If you want something smaller - e.g. just to hold water bottle and a couple of other things, then a big bump bag might fit the bill.

Kogan cleared this for $6.99 end of last year and it's been great. https://www.amazon.com.au/adidas-DT4827-Adidas-Linear-Core/d…

With the bum bag, wife will get annoyed if I get the sling as well.

    • where's that kogan link this time 😂

  • Great sling for the price.

    This or Adidas bumbag?

    • Adidas bumbags kind of gives off eshay vibes

  • You too can now look like Joe Rogan or The Rock…

I love how the revival of bumbags has happened by wearing them around your chest.
    Brilliant rebranding.
