Claratyne 60 Pack $26.99 (after $5 Cashback) at Chemist Warehouse

40

Went to buy some hayfever medicines at Chemist Warehouse and found this on the shelf.
For packs of 60 or more, you can grab an entry from to claim $5 cashback with a copy of receipt or with the print out.
It's limited to one per person.
Claims must be received before 28/2/13.

I bought a 60 pack from chemist warehouse for 31.99.

don't know if it applies to all pharmacies, there doesn't seem to be a list at the back.

I know it's not a great deal, but might be good for those who need yearly hayfever meds.

I usually wait for the Clartyne to be on special for these $5 cashbacks.

When I can be bothered to do so. I sometimes order this generic made by an Australian company but don't where it's actually manufactured.

edit: OK, maybe not so Australian, it appears an Indian firm bought a controlling stake several years ago.

Loratadine from ebay is a pretty cheap alternative.

    • might get a door knock from the police for importing that.

didn't they bring in some law a few years ago where chemists aren't meant to sell more than two packets because people were bulk buying to make illegal drugs?

      • Wrong drug. You are thinking of pseudoephedrine.

    • Hmmm thanks not sure if this will work on me but worth a try I guess.

How is this compare to Claratyne ? anyone ?

or are they the same ?

PS : I use "Manuka honey" which you can buy from coles to relieve the symptoms. one teaspoon a day and thats it.

        Generic equivalent, so same same.

  • 6 weeks for cash back…hmmm not sure the effort. Could use the $5 to buy iLife

  • For fellow hayfever sufferers,
if claratyne doesn't work for you (like me), try bee pollen. You can get that at health stores. it's an alternative hayfever remedy, and works for me anyway.

    • So doesn't prevent symptoms? Any long term desensitising effects?

      • I should add…if you're allergic to bee stings, be cautious. Although they shouldn't be related

Symptom prevention - for me, it relieves symptoms, doesn't prevent them. It works better than Telfast for me, which is the only chemist drug that works at all on me.
Any long term desensitising effects - not so far.

But don't take my word for it - Google "bee pollen hayfever" and research it for yourself. I'm just pointing it out because I don't think many people know about it.
