kmart and also birkenstock look a l likes are narrow fit …… genuine birkenstock also have a regular fitting which is a wide fitting …..
i tend to buy birkenstock for the regular / wide fitting and genuine leather rather than the plastic birko ones ….. i can never understand why the leather ones are hard to get discounted as our summer is northern hemisphere winter and demand should be low in europe and usa …….
birkenstock are owned by LVMH same company that owns dior, tiffany , moët, etc and 70 other luxury brands and they tend to work on margin more than qty so they aren’t targeted as cheap sandals
I had a pair of these for five+ years, bought them out if curiosity. The more traditional design, in leather.
They are expensive, not particularly comfortable, and if they get a bit wet the foodbed gets slimy and slippery AF.
Tevas or Chakos are far more practical, secure and at least as comfortable.
I found them very comfortable (once worn in). However you do not want to get them wet! Seen people in FNQ summer who got mould on theirs from wearing in the rain / not drying
