Kaspersky Stopping Access to Baccarat.com.au - Anyone Else Affected?

I'm being prevented from accessing www.baccarat.com.au by Kaspersky AV - just thought I check if anyone else is affected too before I try alternate ways to contact them.

The message it gives is -

Prevented downloading of a dangerous object

Prevented downloading of a malicious file or other object designed to infect your computer with malware that will slow it down, break the system or lead to other problems.

You were protected from downloading this object by Kaspersky security.

Web address: https://www.baccarat.com.au/

Reason: object is infected HEUR:Trojan-PSW.Script.Generic

It is making it difficult to chase them up on replacement of some transit damaged items. (had no problem raising a ticket a couple of days back but now I get this message).

  • Just add it to your trusted list and move on. Very likely a false positive

    • Would if I could - where is this done?

I have no idea. I don't use any of those programs.

  • Have scanned the website from a heap of online scanning tools and all of them said it was clean. Maybe your computer is infected and something is picking up on the word "baccarat" and thinking it is a gambling site, is trying to inject code to the page…

    • I did the same and it looks fine - my PC also comes up clean with a number of tools.

I had no issue accessing the site a day ot two ago so I assume Kaspersky has updated - may just have to wait for the next update to unfix it.

When my wife is home from work I'll see if we get the same result with her laptop.

Careful.. it could malicious code designed to take up to 75% off your system resources…

Try a different browser or toggle the user agent and see if problem persists.

    • Tried 2 other browsers as well as changing the user agent - all still with the same result.
      Definitely a problem with Kaspersky.

Do you think the alfoil hat could help with this?

I think Kaspersky is trying to save the OP money.

    • It is making it difficult to see if there's been any action on a ticket I submitted for transit damaged goods.

just disable Kaspersky for a couple of minutes while you look up the site

  • There's some malicious script in one of the ad boxes, turn off Kaspersky, but keep a script blocker running ;)

Kaspersky is notorious for false positives. False positives make you think that it's actually doing something meaningful. The free virus checker that comes with Windows is more than enough for most purposes. Make sure that your Windows patches are installed automatically as soon as available and anything else is just bloatware.

  • I've got the same message from Kaspersky.
Just don't go to that website, comrade

  • None of the scanners on VirusTotal pick it up, not even Kaspersky's.
