Uk is supported in list, guessing you would use a vpn? or use public numbers as you are only getting otp.

        • i sign up for this deal yesterday, using VPN yes , i need to provide UK financial institution UK mobile number , they do not accept foreign number
not sure what you mean by Public number ?

          • @Flakuciernie63: ok then as it's a bank, you may want to not use a public number or they won't be accepted. If it's a one off, you can find uk numbers online and see if the bank accepts it. They are public as everyone can see what's sent on that number.

    • Start with 7 ,as their mobiles

        • Can you post link to the offer please

  • If you need OTP's for accessing AU accounts (banks, shares etc) then you do not need a UK mobile number.
You simply use your AU sim after checking that it can accept free SMS codes while overseas.
    Most providers do this now.
Aldi 365 days for $5 might be the best value.
Make sure you have the sim in a phone, turn off data roaming and only power it on when you need to receive SMS.
Works fine - tried and tested on my Coles Mobile sim.

    • Aldi 365 days for $5 might be the best value.

Aldi no longer has 365 days sim for $5 as of 24/05/2023.

OP wants UK local number probably for cheap deals or sign up but unable to verify via AU mobile number.

We all have this struggle when signing up to netflix and they ask for Turkey phone number haha

Would hazard a guess OP wants a UK number for OTPs for UK accounts while living in Aus.

    • It has to be UK number number

  • So I have similar needs with a US credit card I have and just use a messaging app (in my case Talkatone). Most of these re US based but some look like they support UK numbers such as Text Me
    https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/text-me-second-phone-number/id…

Some banks don't like certain apps and some apps don't support 2FA but I'd go down this path before you shell out 5 quid a month on a Lyca Mobile sim https://www.lycamobile.co.uk/en/bundle/uk-plan-smart/

You can get a free PAYG esim from Lyca https://www.lycamobile.co.uk/en/order-free-sim/
