Best SIM to port out to

Nowadays, what's the best SIM to port out to? One that doesn't require you to get a plan/service before you can port your number.

      Second that currently doing this atm to port out of boost and back in, although the $5 credit didn't seem to last even one phone call

            @7ekn00: yes though it only lasts 6 months. maybe could port between telstra and boost $2 SIM.

    Had a horrible experience of using a starter kit for renewing my Boost number for the first time. I have always switched to another Telco then switched back, but this time my reminder failed and I found myself having to renew the next day. I would not recommend to anyone having to ask Boost to use the starter kit for renewal. Firstly the call regularly breaks just when you are being connected to the operator. Secondly the operator refuses to do this and gives you the crap for asking this. Thus you first need to chat to a support person who can confirm this can be done, then ask that person to create a reference number, and then when you speak on the phone quote that number. Not worth it! Can easily take a couple of hours to go through the whole process. And then you have to wait for a few hours for the service to get active data and a couple of days for your balance to be updated. Do yourself a favour and switch back to another Telco then go back to Boost.

    Cheapest port option is Lebara for 5 bucks, if you have Lycamobile 2 dollar pack that is also an option or find a promotion such as Aussie Broadband first month free. These promotions are only temporary though.

    I was able to successfully port using $2 Boost starter pack. No need to recharge to activate sim and port.

    Does port out and then port back in work in the same day? Especially if porting out from Belong to Telstra/Boost ($2 Sims) or $5 Aldi Sim - all powered by Telstra.

      Yes, it will work on the same day. I just did it today with a $2 Telstra Starter SIM. I didn't have to recharge. When I ported back in to Boost it said I wasn't able to port a Boost Sim. I think it was because I didn't answer yes to updating my number when porting out to a Telstra Sim. Anyway, I chatted with a customer service rep online and they ported my number from the Telstra Sim back to Boost with no issues.

    Does the port out to $2 Australia Post Sim card and port back into boost work ?
