Is It Possible to Fix Connection Issues on Earbuds?

Hi all,
I have bought a couple of earbuds in the last year or so - cheap ones because I was going to lose them so trying to minimise my loses.
The thing is that I did not lose them and with time an issue developed where sound will.come.only on one side of the buds. Tried everything that I could find online to make them work.again, but nothing.
Has anyone managed to make the earbuds work again?

    It is the risk of buying cheap :/

    There are some decent cheap ones (like Lenovo from AliExpress), but they are far and few between!

    My son had an issue where both side would connect but only had sound out of one.
    Close inspection showed the quiet side had a build up of wax in it. carefully removed that and the sound came back. YMMV
