A 27" Monitor: Please Help

I need a 27” computer monitor for everyday use. I do not need a gaming monitor, rather a monitor for everyday use but with a good quality screen. Which one will be more suitable and better buy:

Dell P2722H FHD IPS - around $349
Samsung S70A 27" 4K IPS ( LS27A700NWEXXY) - around $349

Thank you you’re your help.

The Samsung one, it's 4K, the other is only 1080p….

Alternately, if you don't mind waiting, see if you can snap up one of the Phillips refurbs that come up every now and then, they're super cheap and solid monitors…

      Don't need 4k.

      Uhd is fine.

      • I would assume you meant QHD is fine which I agree with, I would however, lean toward a 4K monitor now, even at 27". If you are using a Mac, it would be worth checking rtings for mac compatibility. One Dell monitor isn't happy with 4K 60hz over DisplayPort.

        For reference -

        SD - 720p
        HD - 1080p
        QHD - 1440p
        4K UHD - 2,160p
        8K UHD - 4,320p

      • Don't need 4k.

        Uhd is fine.

I think this depends on the individual. I moved from a 27" 1440p monitor to a 5k2k monitor purely because there weren't enough pixels on the screen at 1440p. I was trying to cram in large spreadsheets but couldn't fit enough rows onto the screen. With a higher pixel density, I'm now able to do so, even though the text is smaller, because the pixels are there & the text is readable (if tiny).

  • Should be some EOFY pricing around soon for 4K Dell, LG & Samsung. I referred a friend to the Samsung earlier this month @$310. Not getting 4K is like time travelling to 2010 and hating on the new iPhone 4 because the display resolution is too high.

    PC or Mac?

I got a 27" Qhd and the text looks awful on MacOS, and I'm scaling it up.

Something something about sub pixel rendering. you can google it.

  • It is for PC.

Has anyone had any experience with this manufacturer/supplier?
