Celeb Backed (Paris Hilton, The Chainsmokers) Checkmate Finds Coupon Codes Automatically

Apparently the heiress is struggling to keep up with the cost of living and needs to set up a bargain website in Australia

Thoughts?
I am super grateful for the bargain community so don't really see a celebrity need for it.

    "Celebs"

    Isn't this what honey does?

This'll end well, just like Kim K and the crypto stuff

"Celeb backed" doesn't mean what they want you to think it means. It means the celebrity was shown an investment slide deck where they showed how many suckers (us) they can get if the celebrity puts money in. It's an investment for the celebrity, nothing more.

  • Backed by The Chainsmokers?

    So bound to suck, then.

So they make a copy of the dozen other services like this, and get $15m in funding? mmmkay

    • Yeah, wish I could come up with a dumb idea and sell that dumb idea to a bunch of idiots with money.

    • US$15m is series A funding, on top of previous US$5m seed round. They were top app on iOS & have 400k users & 600k followers on social media though — so maybe they have got something right. Marketing & customer acquisition?

The people being scammed in this case are the celebs. But as they say, don't gamble money you can't afford to lose, and I guess that they can afford to lose it.

Notwithstanding the above, the technology is hardly new and numerous websites attempt to do this already. We therefore already know that the main issue is ensuring that your website is not full of expired, targeted, and low value codes. Good luck overcoming that.

I presume that the technology is a thumb button where users respond to the question "did this code work for you?" with a thumb up or thumb down.
