Earbuds That Won't Fall out (Running etc) and Cheap < $30

Hi

Normal earbuds won’t stay in my ears sitting at the desk let alone moving. I have these wired Philips type that have extra rubber that fits inside your ear (not wrap around head etc) that generally work for my ears.

I now need wireless and seeking suggestions. I don’t require a mic, they should be fitness type that will stay in when running or in my case sitting at at the desk also :-), noise cancelling is a bonus as is a charge box etc.
Happy to purchase from Ali and the cheaper the better. There’s so many offerings on Ali I thought I’d check in here first.

  • Soundpeats truefree2 sometimes go as low as $35 on amazon The ear fin I found to actually be ridiculously good in keeping a very secure fit in ear.

  • Why not wireless ones, and wear a headband over your ears if they seem to want to fall out.

    • +2

wear a headband over your ears if they seem to want to fall out.

I heard a dab of superglue does a better job!

    • Yes that’s what I’m considering but there’s allot of choice. Ali seems to have sold allot of Lenovo QT80 so assume they must be ok.

  • +1

Have you looked at the type which hook over your ear? There are a few TWS versions I believe.

    • Looking at quite a few on Ali but can’t make heads and tails of them. The Lenovo QT80 looks very promising but not sure if there’s sim better at the price

  • Get a set of neckband earphones so you dont have to stuff all the hardware into the earpiece. Less weight in the ear means less inertia to pull them out. I prefer ones with a rigid neckband but they have become far less popular & a lot of the really good ones I used to use are no longer available. Sets with the rigid neckband carry the weight of the transmitter/battery on your neck instead of dangling on the wire.

The Sony WI-C200 are good cheap ones but they dont have the rigid neckband. Depending on how you are built the battery/receiver can pull on the earphones.

There is a whole mess of cheap unknown brand ones on amazon, never tried any of them though.

    Example:

  • For running, wrap around bone conduction headphones are thought to be a good bet - you can still here that car coming up behind you.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZlWdYeEe1Y - cheaper options are available from all south american rivers.

  • With running headphones you want something that:

    • Have a good fit that doesn't fall out when you pounce on the tarmac
    • Good waterproof rating so your sweat doesn't get in and short the electronics
    • Actual clicky buttons rather than touch-sensitive ones so your sweat doesn't accidentally trigger a press
    • Enough battery life. Who knows — you might want to run a trail ultra with it

Gotta confess that I sweat a lot and have destroyed multiple sets of cheap wireless earbuds each year. I've been running cheap bone-conduction headphones designed for swimming from AliExpress (IPX8), and recently got a pair of Shokz OpenRun from this deal and it's great so far.
