What's the flavour of the month? G a N….

Jump on board the GaN bandwagon with this fast charger.

PD 100w combined
4 ports

Would I buy one? Yes, but I already have enough GaN chargers at home.

Note: you will need to buy an 8-figure power cable, as the one supplied needs an adaptor. Even the Baseus equivalent with the China plug isn't really for Australia as the prongs don't have insulation.

Not a bad price for $56.55 (using the code) delivered via the official store on Aliexpress.

Oo a figure 8 plug. This will solve all the problems that everyone else had about the 'lack of insulation' and potential breaking of the cable.

    • Asking because its hard to tell through text. Is this sarcasm or is that actually legit lol

      • Actual legit.

Most complaints about the Baseus 100W GaN charger is that theyre not 'AU' certified because of the lack of insulation.

Others say that if the cable breaks you're SOL.

      • I would say legit. For me, baseus version with hardwired power cord is useless. Not only higher chance of breaking, but needs additional adapter when travelling overseas. With this, I just bring the correct cord. Do I need long one? Or short one? I can choose.

Not the same adapter, but a review of the 140W Roceren here. That one reviewed pretty well, seems worth the gamble.

    • The main problem I have with brandless chargers is that you don't know if product is on product they put in any effort to get something decent, or even batch to batch if they validate the ongoing quality.

BOE tried to rip off Apple of all companies. I absolutely expect a random OEM to swap in some cheaper caps down the road to save a few bucks.

  • Figure 8 plug is useful, but it is missing the international sockets that Baseus one has.

The 100W desktop charge station at US$23.99 might be better value, assuming that the 30W max is only if all ports are connected.

It seems 30W max even only single port is used.
