KrisFlyer Upgrades on Partner Airlines

Fellow Frequent Flyers,

Anyone has experience with using KrisFlyer - to upgrade flights with partner airlines. Looking to upgrade my upcoming flight with united airlines flight to SFO which was booked via Amex Travel. Tried reaching to KrisFlyer over the phone multiple times, however agents are very unaware of this and keep declining this ever exist.

Was wondering if any has used this process in the past and what is it like?

Thanks

Complete the form from your link, and best of luck. The chances of a partner upgrade are almost non-existent in my knowledge - I would guess the partner airline would give preferences to their own members before giving a partner airline. Plus your route over the pacific has strong demand as it it so chances are already very slim to start with.

  • What happens when you put the #PNR into the United website?

    • on United website, you can only upgrade using their mileage.

If you load your flight into the United app it may give you a bid now or paid upgrade offer later.
It depends on the fare bucket (Y,B)and the conditions of the ticket if you can upgrade a codeshare flight with points. *and availability.
