  • Is this the first 1TB to market?

Edit: obv not. I thought we were still waiting

    • +2

No they been around for ages, but I don't remember them being this cheap.

  • +3

My walkman will be (profanity) amazing

    • I can now retire my 13,889 cassette tapes (BASF 30 minute)

  • Still waiting on samsung 1tb microsd, they seem to be extremely late to the party.

unfortunately seems to be alot of fakes of this particular one, and they dont specify write speeds.

    • Here’s how the Lexar Play 1TB microSD card performed in our suite of benchmark tests:

      CrystalDiskMark: 95MBps (read); 83MBps (write)

      Atto: 91MBps (read, 256mb); 80MBps (write, 256mb)

AS SSD: 90MBps (seq read); 30MBps (seq write)

      AJA: 89MBps (read) ; 79MBps (write)

      • At that speed, just under 3 hours to read the whole card :-)

      • AS SSD: […] 30MBps (seq write)

AS SSD shows post-cache speeds, so sustained writes will be closer to 30MB/s which is pretty weak if you plan on transferring lots of data.

Lol and here I am thinking the switch only supported 512GB. Apparently a software update allows upto 2TB cards. Don't think we will get there before Nintendos' next gen console release. However there are limitations not related to capacity that prevent the switch from utilising faster read/write speeds. So don't always go for the best, go for value!

    https://www.eurogamer.net/digitalfoundry-the-best-micro-sd-c…

The console only supports UHS-1 cards, which have a maximum possible speed of 104MB/s, compared to the 312MB/s speed limit of the more modern UHS-2 standard. However, our testing revealed only a tiny differential between the slowest and fastest UHS-1 Micro SD cards on the Switch

Any device that supports SDXC in the exFAT supports up to 2TB cards. Most device specs just specify a size limit below that as that was likely the largest available when the device came out.

  • I wish 2tb would become available

  • +1

+1 for opening with 'compatible with Nintendo switch', although your comment count will suffer cause 20 people won't be asking haha

    • +3

      Some idiot will still ask.

      • +2

Does this work with the Nintendo switch? Thanks.

        • +1

          No.

  • +1

Perfect for all my emulators and games.

  • is this compatible with ps5??

    • Ps5 doesn’t have a MicroSD reader though…

  • Would anyone know of this works with a dashcam ?

  • Thanks! Been waiting on a deal for a 1tb micro SD, not the fastest but probably good enough. Now I can finally complete my 3tb steam deck build!

  • -1

    Sub 100 or bust

  • +5

Don't buy this, this card is very suffering at speed. Write speed on PC is unstable, undulates among 10M/s and 30M/s.
Better increase your budget for a samsung, sandisk or whatever..

  • +2

Lowest ever price according to CamelCamelCamel is $69.90. Better to wait for it to drop that low again since is a somewhat low-end card.

  • why do you need that much space for an sd card
just clear out if its full, this much capacity is just increasing data loss risk from file corruption

    • Great for steam deck as some games as massive!!!

      • True. Other than that?
Do all the ppl who ordered have a steam deck?

PS I am getting into the handheld gaming too but can’t justify an exxy steam deck. just ordered a vita from Japan. Missing my old PSP

        • +2

The deck is amazing, no regrets

1TB card would also be great for anyone on a modded switch

          • @britta: Jelly. Hmm

            • @ChatCPT: Do it!!! No brainer if you have a good steam library. Remote play PS and Xbox work amazing 2. Then of course emulation!!

              • @britta: i dont know if mine is a good library mostly ozbargain freebies - I was looking through…

Apex Legends, ARK, CS:GO, Crysis 2, 3, Days Gone, Dead Island, Destiny 2, DOOM, Doom eternal, Hades, It takes two, Left 4 dead 2, max payne 3, minion masters :), sims 4, wolfenstein 2

The only issue is 4x the Vita price

                • +1

@ChatCPT: My steam library was low 300 when I got my steam deck… It's now over 500 hahahah

  • Not showing as an option now… not even out of stock… wonder if it was a price error?

  • Back in stock. Just ordered for $112

    • And gone. Geeez I was lucky

  • Price drop, deal back on

  • Good fit for Arcade Punks 1TB Batocera image?
