Can You Please Recommend This 55 Year Old a Hair Wax Product?

Something that is easily moldable and a must that it be easily washed out by Head & Shoulder shampoo.

I hardly attend face-to-face board meetings these days but I felt I need to change my MUK wax as it is so hard to wash using Head & Shoulder shampoo.

Genuine question and not a troll whatsoever.

…a 55 Year Old Hair Wax

      or an archaeological find

        an archaeological find

Same, I came in looking for someone seeking information about what hair wax my grandfather was using back in the early 70's.

        Brylcreem… and lots of it.

apology, now that I read it again, I understand where you coming from

If your shampoo can't wash out basic hair wax, it might be time to change your shampoo instead! It's much easier to switch to another shampoo than to find another suitable wax.

Hair wax that is 55 years old will be hard to wash out.

  • serious answer: Layrite Natural Matte Cream about $35 on amazon iirc
washes out real easy and didnt seem to aggravate my skin like some of the others on market.

  • I've been using this for a long while now, it keeps the hair soft and holds very well, and washes off easily: https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/497665/sch…

    • this is the one i used to use circa 2017-2019 but one day it started making my forehead and scalp itchy/flakey…

    One from 1968?

Does it need to be exactly 55 years old? Brylcreem was created in 1928 which makes it 95 years old, but a little dab will do ya.

  • A/S/L?

A = 55 years.. Not sure why it's relevant to the request for hair product, or is hair different at 55 years? I certainly have less than my 20s though, but it feel the same.

    • or is hair different at 55 years?

Hair at age 55 > this

    • Yes I believe I've tried American Crew Fiber in my younger days. If memory serves me right, it's pretty good. Thank you!

Try a pomade instead of a wax? Easier to work with and wash out than a wax, but more hold than a cream or mousse. King Brown Paste Pomade is what i use.

I usually use dog poo because it's free and organic.

    • same reason you wipe your ass with your hands

  • Hanz de fuko- Claymation is great. Water-soluble and strong hold with matte finish. Very gentle on the scalp as well. Abit pricy at $30 for a small pot but well worth it.

  • who has hair at 55, except me?

    • Me

    • who has hair at 55, except me?

That would be a no from me - unless I included what covered the rest of me.

  • I like Baxter of California but any of the beeswax based waxes should do the trick. More expensive but you need so little that it ends up being cheaper than the cheap supermarket crap.

    • clay pomade?

Hair wax? No other bloke truelly gives a stuff what your hair looks like do you really need it?

  • eat heaps of fatty pork, free oil from your pores!

  • I'm 53 and recommend this https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/716810/sch…

Its not a wax so it doesnt allow you to shape your hair a huge amount, but it keeps it all in place if you have a relatively simple style. Washes out just with water

  • I use RedOne(brand) hair wax the green tub. It’s a matte wax, medium hardness and washes out of hair easily.

My partner uses Bedhead Manipulator. Lasts for ages as only a small amount is needed. It's a little sticky but easy to use and washes out, no probs. Can test it at places like Hair Warehouse. He found Muk wax too "muddy" and if in a rush and didn't blend it well, looked clumpy.
